Our steer are selling out FAST. August has 5 halves remaining and September only has 8 halves available.

“How much beef do I get from a half steer?”

That’s a common question and answer is straight forward— whatever the steer makes. There’s a little variability, but not much! The variability is in how you decide to cut and package your half. We will help you get the most value out of your steer through the cutting and packaging process. On a light steer dressing 325lbs you can expect 211lbs of packaged beef, organs and bones or 65% of the dress weight.

The picture below is a light half— dressing 300-325lbs. Expect 5 or more boxes with a heavy 375lb half.

We have gotten A LOT of calls about our steers and availability. The truth is we have only a few half-steer available for August and September harvest! When they’re sold out THAT’S IT for the year. We are a small farm and don’t have an unlimited supply.

***Half Steer Deposits***
I have been getting a lot of calls regarding our half steers. As you may or may not have heard, the US cowherd is the smallest since recordkeeping began. This combined with the demand for Beef is driving prices up dramatically. We are still committed to our community and to selling our products locally. We look at you guys as our friends and neighbors and we really enjoy feeding families. As many of you know, our family with our three little boys eats the same beef that we sell to you! With that being said, our family farm only produces a certain amount of beef per year. We are selling 36-40 steers this year, many of which already have deposits paid on their behalf.
