These are just some of the recent cases we've taken on at The Specific. Neurologic, functional based upper cervical chiropractic where we do objective testing to confirm whether or not someone is a candidate for care and if we are confident we can get long lasting results.

By our first re-exam, 80% of people report a 50% or better improvement in severity/frequency of main complaint. By our final re-exam, 90% of people report a 90% improvement or higher in severity of main complaint.

There's a lot of chronically sick people out there (especially in Arkansas) and plenty who's ears would perk up if they read/heard about this. If you're open to sharing, that would be significantly appreciated. Not just by myself and the docs I work with, but by those who might just find the answer they've been looking for because of you.

Grazie (Italian for thank you)

Welcome to Clinical Review, where I break down the course of care of a patient, what they presented with, what improvements or not they experienced during care, and what they changes they notice in quality of their life.

This patient came to me with a complaint of debilitating migraines for 20 years. She would get 2-3 migraines per week, some of them lasting up to 7 days. These migraines would often hospitalize her and when she wouldn't be having a migraine, she would have a dull headache. She described her headache pain ranging from dull, achy, sharp, tingling, burning 7/10 pain to 10/10 pain. She also reported anxiety, depression, heat cold intolerance, fainting, dizziness, visual disturbances, neck pain, numbness radiating to fingertips, muscle cramping, shortness of breath and ringing in the ears.

Below is her story and clinical review

Just did a consult on a 55 year old man with a main complaint of anxiety and depression.

He thinks it’s hereditary and genetic, that his dad dealt with it and got passed down to him.
Basically his whole life, this man has been living with random anxiousness, anxiety attacks, worry and fear.

Anxiety and depression are things I see almost constantly in patient histories. Which always hits home for me with the amount of friends who have opened up about mental health, anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts.

That’s why I got into upper cervical care and nervous system restoration. I was hellbound on figuring out the connection between chiropractic, nervous system function and areas in the brain dealing with mood, behavior and emotional regulation.

My best friend from growing up committed su***de. A friend I made from Arkansas a few weeks ago told me he was suicidal before he met me/got under care. I guy I was with this past weekend shared his story about his life which had a suicidal stage.

The two best action steps I have found for mental health are conversations/sharing your story and nervous system care.

A man like today is why we do it. Time to unravel 40-50 years in 6 months

We’re excited to invite you to join us for the latest episode of The Nutritional Edge streaming live today at noon! This episode will be diving into the fascinating world of Vitamin B1—its benefits, sources, and how it can impact your overall health.

 Date: Today
 Time: 12:00 PM
Where to Watch: Facebook and YouTube

Why Vitamin B1?

Vitamin B1, also known as thiamine, offers several crucial benefits for overall health. First, it plays a vital role in converting carbohydrates into energy, ensuring your body has the fuel it needs for daily activities. Second, thiamine supports proper nerve function, helping to maintain healthy nerve cells and promoting effective communication between the brain and nervous system. Third, it aids in maintaining cardiovascular health by contributing to the normal functioning of the heart and blood vessels. Fourth, vitamin B1 is essential for cognitive function, as it helps support memory and concentration. Finally, thiamine has been shown to enhance mood and mental well-being, potentially reducing the risk of conditions such as depression. Incorporating sufficient vitamin B1 into your diet can thus contribute significantly to both physical and mental health.

What got me into upper cervical chiropractic in the first place ⬇️

I was in my fourth quarter in school when an upper cervical doc from San Diego came to present a sports performance workshop to a palpation group I attended. He had just done a case study of three Top 25 PGA golfers assessing their grip strength, GRF (ground reaction force), vertical jump and drive distance.

That wasn't the part that peaked my interest. It was his story of his first patient...

His first patient was a woman who had just gotten into a car accident. Extreme neck pain (which is what led her to him) and headaches, post concussive type symptoms.

What he found on her intake however was that she had 5% function of her thyroid left and was drowning in thyroid medications.

By the end of care, she had regained 75% function of her thyroid and was down to only one thyroid medication.

That peaked my interest big time. I'm like "thats potent...how the heck does that work"

Got my first upper cervical adjustment a week later in San Francisco, my spine muscles (paraspinals) felt like rainwater for a month and I was sold from there.

Pretty special to be doing this and seeing those kind of outcomes daily at The Specific Chiropractic Centers - Little Rock, AR

Remember, it's not me doing the healing/recovery. It's you

"77% of humans don't exercise"

That was my big takeaway from my read last night of "Outlive" by Dr. Peter Attia, a renowned author, researcher and physician specializing in longevity.

He cited multiple studies demonstrating that the increase in death was 4-fold for those who didn't exercise, that zero exercise had worse health outcomes than smoking ci******es and that minimal exercise of 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week increases health span by 10 years.

The part that baffled me though was that first statement.

"77% of humans don't exercise."

Exercise is a greater lever than nutrition, sleep, mental wellbeing and supplements on prolongation of quality years of living (I'd be interested to read about it compared to nervous system function). You could exercise, do absolutely zero to optimize the others and you'll have better health outcomes than if you did the others perfectly but didn't exercise.

So here's what I tell my patients:

Your body is the cheapest gym membership you'll ever have and the best dumbbell you'll ever use.

Just start moving and good things happen

“How well has your life force been flowing?”…

Is a question I ought to ask my patients more often. Even as a reflective one to myself too.

It’s easy to get strapped up in the weekly flow of work, navigating sports schedules with kids and trying to keep the yard clean while planning out a vacation.

What’s difficult is taking that step back and giving yourself a grade. You could do it on the macro and go overall. Maybe categorize it with physical, emotional, relational, familial, financial.

Categorize it, grade it and identify the interferences.

Then go to work on removing the interferences. Or surrounding yourself with the people that can help.

So I’ll ask again:

“How well has your life force been flowing?”
