🗣🗣🗣LONG POST ALERT!!!!! A year ago this month I had my daughter in cooking classes which was held on Saturdays at the Ronald McDonald House. During that course I found out the purpose of the RMH was to house families of sick children that were at the Arkansas Children's Hospital so that they could be in close proximity to them during such a difficult time in their lives. The RMH provides housing, toiletries, and meals daily all for free to these loved ones. All of this is possible through donations, volunteers, and events like the Chocolate Fantasy Ball which I also found out about and actually wanted to attend because I LOVE SWEETS!!!!! As I sat in that building my heart felt so heavy because I thought about all of the parents and the pain that they were enduring at that very moment. The uncertainty of their child's prognosis, leaving their other children back home with friends or grandparents in order to be available to the hospitalized child, household bills, medical bills, the list goes on. I told myself I was going to give back in some way I just didn't know how yet. A couple months later I began to dabble in making treats with the intention of making it a business. Not even a full month into making strawberries, my son was hospitalized at Arkansas Children Hospital. We didn't know what was wrong and seeing him in pain but not knowing the cure was one of the worst things I've ever had to experience in my life. I was now one of those parents. I had first hand experience. Thankfully he got better and has been fine ever since. A week ago I was contacted by one of the co-chairs to the ball and she said she saw me on the news last week and wanted me to make treats or a sculpture for the ball. I was SO excited because I had literally saved in my phone a year ago to attend the ball this year in order to give back AND enjoy those goodies😁I never imagined I would be making some of those goodies! It's so crazy how life takes you on these cool trips. Some say coincidence but I say it was ALL God!!!!! I'm so grateful for every experience good and bad this last year because it may not have all been easy, but it's been so worth it!❤
