The Rockin' Chair - Accessible Concert Venue Guide "Access for Every Fan"

At The Rockin’ Chair, we’re passionate about making live events accessible to everyone. Are there sign language interpreters?

"Access for Every Fan"

We help disabled event-goers find the accessibility details they need regarding venues—elevators, interpreters, hearing devices, and more—so they can focus on what really matters: enjoying the show! We provide disabled event-goers with essential information about venues, answering questions like: Does the venue have elevators? Do they offer assistive hearing devices? Our mission is to eliminate the guesswork and ensure everyone can focus on what really matters—having a great time. We believe live events are special experiences that should be open to all, and we’re here to make accessibility easier for every fan. Whether you're attending a concert, theater performance, or sports game, The Rockin’ Chair is your trusted resource for accessibility info. Let’s make every event an experience to remember!

For the past few months, we've been waiting on a van that would actually be safe and reliable for me. Ours was barely hanging on and it was time. Every delay. Every "maybe this week." Every canceled date. It all added up.

Today, we finally picked up the new accessible van. On the way home, music filled the speakers, and something in me cracked open. My mom cried first. Then I did. Not from sadness. From relief. From the feeling of being safe again.

If you know, you know. Accessibility stress hits deep. It affects your body, your energy, your sleep, your entire nervous system. We don't talk about that enough.

This moment reminded me why The Rockin' Chair exists.

Accessibility is not just about ramps. It is about freedom.

It is about peace. It is about showing up to life without fear.

Today reminded me that what we're building matters more than ever.

Access for Every Fan.

I have been to a lot of shows in my life, and I have experienced them from every angle.
I have watched from the back row.
I have been in the accessible section.
I have felt the music in my chest just like everyone else around me.

But I have also lived the other side of it.
The blank stares from staff.
The confusion from security who did not know where to send me or how to help.
The moments where it felt like everyone else got to be part of the crowd and I was left on the sidelines.

Those moments stay with you.
They shape the way you experience live music.
They shape the way you see yourself.

And they are why I do this.
I want to make it easier for every fan who comes after me.
I want them to feel welcomed instead of questioned.
Included instead of overlooked.
Part of the moment instead of pushed to the side.

The Rockin’ Chair exists because no one should have to fight for a place in the crowd.
Not today. Not ever.

Some artists talk about supporting disabled fans. Alex actually shows it. He sees us. He shows up for us. And moments like this remind me why I built The Rockin' Chair in the first place.

Fans like this warrior belong in the crowd, not on the sidelines. They deserve the lights, the noise, the adrenaline, the whole damn show.

And people love to say metal looks scary, but the truth is the metal community is one of the most caring groups you’ll ever meet. They lift each other up, they look out for the ones fighting harder, and they show the world what real strength looks like.

Huge respect to Alex for using his platform the right way and lifting up the people who fight twice as hard just to be there. This is what live music should look like.

Access for Every Fan.

I had the chance to be acquainted with this warrior. Forgive me, brother, I don’t remember your name, because it’s hard for me to remember foreign names. But I will definitely remember you as a warrior for a long time. Every time people who have faced hardships in life and are forced to be in wheelchairs like this come to our concerts, and we play there, they inspire me every single time and make me realize what a weak bastard I am. I always think: if I were in his place? What would I do? I’d sit at home whining like a little bitch. Complaining and whining. But he’s here. At a metal concert. This mf almost destroyed everyone in the wall of death, I’m not kidding.

I was performing in the mask that I used when I walked out for my fight in Top Dog. And right before jumping into the ring, my mask fell and one horn broke. And I thought: bad sign. I think I’m going to lose. And the next thought was: even if I fu***ng lose, I will never give up. I’ll die, but I won’t give up. And that’s exactly what happened. I lost, but I didn’t give up, even though I lost my vision in the first round, and the bones in my face were all broken.

You think that’s cool? Nooooo. THIS guy in the photo is cool. He is a WARRIOR. And every damn day he wins and keeps fighting. I wanted to hang that mask on the wall together with the hand wraps I wore into the fight. But I wanted to give this mask specifically to this gentleman. Because it’s thanks to people like him that I become stronger. They inspire me. Thank you, brother. God bless you and your family

Somewhere out there is a fan who has never been to their first concert.
Not because they do not want to, but because they cannot.

That is who we are building this for.
The ones who dream of hearing their favorite song live, feeling the bass in their chest, and being part of the crowd instead of watching from the sidelines.

Every fan deserves that moment, the one that changes everything.
That is the real why.

Last week we shared how it all began.
This week is about what came after: the rebuild.

We were so eager to share what we had been working on that we opened the doors too soon.
But it wasn’t ready yet.
So we pulled it back, fixed what needed fixing, and kept building.

When you are creating something that has never been done before, you learn as you go.
There is no playbook for accessibility in live entertainment, only a team that refuses to stop until every fan can experience the music they love.

We hit walls.
We learned.
We rebuilt.

That is the real why.
Because this mission is louder than any obstacle, and we are not done yet.

Here’s to rediscovering old favorites and creating new memories. Access makes it all possible.

In 2014, I went to my first rock concert with my sister and a friend.
Five Finger Death Punch , Volbeat, HELLYEAH , and NOTHING MORE.

That night changed everything.
It was the first time I truly felt like I belonged somewhere.

Ten years later, that feeling turned into The Rockin’ Chair.

Because sometimes one night, one song, one crowd, can show you who you were meant to be.

🎭 Venue Review: CALS Ron Robinson Theater (CALS – Central Arkansas Library System) 🎭

This weekend I visited the Ron Robinson Theater for the very first time, and what a rockin’ experience it was! 🤘

Parking was super easy with the library lot right next door, and the walk to the entrance was short. The L-shaped ramp made getting inside simple, though I did notice there’s no railing, which might make things tricky for some folks with mobility aids. Inside, another ramp led into the cozy theater lobby, which was beautifully set up and welcoming.

We were there to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show celebrating its 50th anniversary - the longest-running film in theaters! The staff was awesome, the shadow cast crushed it, and the energy was electric. Getting into the actual theater was easy too, with wide doorways and plenty of space leading to our seats. My family, my friend, and I sat at the very front where there was the perfect spot for my chair right beside them.

Between the singing, dancing, and props (yes, there was rice, newspapers, water guns, and more), it was an unforgettable night. I’ve seen Rocky Horror a hundred times, but never like this!

Accessibility-wise:
✅ Parking: Close and convenient
✅ Entrances: Ramps available (though railings would make them even better)
✅ Seating: Accessible and inclusive
⭐ Overall: A great experience for disabled fans, and one I’d definitely recommend!

Because every fan deserves to rock comfortably. 🎶
