Kudos to Nikki Clemons, RN in Morrilton, on being named a CHI St. Vincent Service Hero! Nikki's patient needed major unplanned surgery, and the patient had no support at home and no idea what to expect after surgery. Nikki spend hours going over the procedure, the equipment the patient would need after surgery, and what recovery would look like. And when the surgery had to be delayed, Nikki spent more time answering the patient's questions and calming their nerves. Nikki, thank you for being such a wonderful nurse to your patients!

Congratulations to Daniel Dean, security guard at the Infirmary, on being named a CHI St. Vincent Service Hero! Daniel was honored for helping a lost elderly woman who had come to our campus. After charging her dead phone and checking her emergency contacts, Daniel found that she was from Tulsa and had a silver alert out for her there! Daniel and the LRPD were able to get her reunited safely with her family. Thank you, Daniel, for taking the time to care for someone lost and in need.

We're thrilled to share that McKenzi Wilkins, RN at North, has received the DAISY Award! McKenzi was recognized for her care with a post-surgical patient who was dealing with confusion and anxiety. She was careful to manage his care with compassion, even stopping an IV push midway to fetch ice packs when the patient complained it was causing a burning sensation. Congratulations, McKenzi!
