OK, its been a little bit since I started this page so today is about getting the word out. Here is a short biosketch about me. Thank you for your support!
My wife and I moved to Littleton five years ago and absolutely love this community. Since then I have been very active serving as a leader of Littleton Cub Scout Pack 21, secretary and president of the Littleton Youth Baseball and Softball Association (LYBS), and volunteer coach for all of my children's sports teams.
As your next Board of Health member I believe I am uniquely qualified through my education and experience. I hold a bachelor’s of science degree in toxicology from the University of Wisconsin, a doctorate of philosophy in toxicology from Purdue University, and was a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of New Mexico in the field of molecular carcinogenesis. During those years I studied the effects of environmental pollutants on human health including breast cancer. I have close to 14 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry as a toxicologist where my role is to assess the risk to human health of novel medicines. In my professional career I have been the primary toxicologist on research teams that have resulted in clinical trials including one drug approved in Europe and Japan for a rare neuropathic disease. I am have a good understanding for interpreting and applying governmental guidances and statutes, including responses to regulatory questions both in writing and in person in the US and in Europe.
I believe there are no "cookie cutter" approaches to human health and risk assessment. In these and related areas I bring not only experience but also bring a logical and pragmatic approach to tackling issues.
In short I love the Littleton community and want to see it grow in ways that make sense and balances the need for development while preserving the small town feel and open spaces of Littleton. Community involvement is obviously a passion for me and my family and I will bring that passion to the Board of Health to ensure that the right decisions are made for all Littleton residents in a logical and fair and open manner.
