Welcome, February! 💘

We've made it through the first month of the new year. It's a great time to reflect on how things have been going for you.

How have you been feeling? What kind of mindset have you been in?
Are you noticing any positive changes? Things that could use a little tune-up, or more attention?
Are you feeling pulled to try something new?

It may be the symbolic month of love, but remember that you can show love anytime, any day! 💜

However you spread the love, be sure to give some to the one person who is always there and showing up for you - YOU! It's never too late to make a Brave New Start for yourself 💜⚔️💜

These self care practices go a long way if you’re going through a trying time:

~ Breaks
~ Deep, slow breaths
~ Decompressing in the evenings
~ Meditating/Sitting quietly (even for 3 minutes)
~ Going to bed earlier
~ Not forcing “regimented” activities if you’re not up to them
~ Intuitive eating
~ Listening to music; re-discovering nostalgic songs
~ Listening to soundscapes that calm you
~ Going easier on yourself/Giving yourself extra grace
~ Tuning in to your body for cues of hunger, thirst, rest, etc.

Make sure you’re taking good care of your Brave self 💜⚔️💜

Wellness and nervous system regulation can absolutely be fancy— biohacking gadgets like vagal nerve stimulators, peptides, supplements. And hey, I love them too; I’ve seen them work wonders for people chasing peak performance. But the truth is, I recommend these free nervous system regulators to my telehealth patients just as often—like solid sleep routines, gentle walks in nature, or even breathing through a tough day without spiraling.

Those aren’t glamorous, but they’re essential game-changers for keeping your nervous system regulated and calm. Sometimes, chasing the perfect protocol or the next thing to buy or consume or try means missing out on just being consistent with the simple stuff that’s already right there. Consistency is the ultimate biohack.

When I say ‘happy new year’,
I’m not for a moment,
expecting this to occur,
for that is not possible,
a year must be all things.

Happiness must come and go,
like the tides and the winds,
just as sadness,
and all the emotions in between.

When I say ‘happy new year’,
I’m really wishing you,
a baseline of peace,
of gratitude.

Because if you can sit with these things,
for the most part,
happiness will thrive,
when it does arrive,
and sadness will know its place in the mix.

If you can nourish these things,
daily,
you will also grow hope,
for it flourishes in such soil.

And hope is the key,
to this enigmatic state
of ‘happiness’ we seek.

When I say ‘happy new year’,
I’m really wishing you more happy days,
than sad days,
more joy than misery,
more laughter than tears…
and the wisdom to accept,
that they all belong.

Happy new year, my friends.
Happy new year.
