Utah Kappa Delta Alumnae Chapter

The Utah KD Alumnae Chapter is comprised of Kappa Deltas from many universities residing in Utah.

The Utah Alumnae Chapter of Kappa Delta is open to all KD initiates living in the state of Utah. We strive to provide a variety of social and philanthropic events to meet the needs of our members. Our goal is to offer the opportunity for women to reconnect with Kappa Delta, network with each other, and build lasting friendships. Our alumnae chapter is comprised of sisters of all ages who are initiates of the collegiate chapters across the country. We have come together to build a sisterhood that extends well beyond the college experience. If you are new to the state or have lived here for a while, we look forward to meeting you!

In Sisterhood & Remembrance: A Friendship Circle for Bree Smith

Please join us as we come together to remember the life and light of our dear sister, Bree Smith. This gathering is a chance to share KD memories, find comfort in one another, and honor the joy Bree brought into our lives and within our sisterhood.

Date: Sunday, December 7 Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Location: Maven Create 177 E 900 S Ste 200, Salt Lake City, UT 84111

A short remembrance ceremony will begin at 11:30 AM, followed by time to connect, reflect, and be in community. Light appetizers and drinks will be provided. All Kappa Deltas and Friends of Kappa Delta are warmly welcome.

Dress Code: Bright, casual colors—the way Bree would want us to show up: with warmth, vibrance, and love.

We are deeply grateful to our friends at Maven Create for generously opening their space to us. If you feel called to support this gathering, contributions may be sent to on Venmo. Any remaining funds will be donated to the Bree Smith GoFundMe.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beautiful sister, Bree Smith. Bree joined Kappa Delta in 2012 and immediately dove in head first, joining council, instilling confidence in others, and most importantly, living our ritual daily. 💚 She was a light in Beta Delta and throughout all of Utah State.

After her collegiate years, she continued to serve on our alumnae council and fostered her friendships well past college. She moved us with her beautiful words in her poetry and writing classes, she gave so wholly to others in every season of her life. Our hearts go out to her partner, Filiz, and her entire family. We will share service information as soon as details are available.

While we may never fully understand the depth of someone’s struggles, Bree’s passing reminds us of the importance of caring for ourselves and one another. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out; this sisterhood is for life, through every season. 💚 As we remember Bree, may we hold close the strength of our sisterhood and the light she shared with us all.

We have set up a Google photo drive and would love for you to upload any pictures you have of or with Bree.

As we sorrow together through this difficult time, always remember that our chain is made of well-tried, peerless links.

THANK YOU to everyone who supported KD’s second annual Founder’s Day of Giving! Because of you we raised $2113 (over double our goal) and put the Beta Delta in the top 50 of all Kappa Delta chapters! Your gifts fund scholarships, leadership training, mental health & wellness programs, and crisis grants for sisters today and tomorrow.

Last weekend we joined over 1,000 of our Kappa Delta sisters for National Convention in Dallas, Texas. Our chapter got to celebrate our very own Beta Delta Judy Lawton as she received the Order of the Emerald for her service to Kappa Delta. Our chapter walked away with the National Chapter Support Award as well as the Chapter Excellence Award. Putting us in the top 10% of all Alumnae Chapters! The Utah collegiate chapter, Beta Delta earned an honorable mention for Recruitment Excellence.💚
