Appreciation:

One way to generate more appreciation energy in your relationship is through photographs. Find a photo that makes you smile hard. Print out a copy of the photo and display it where you will see it throughout the day.

When you see it, remember how thankful you are that your sweetheart makes you smile!

True Compliment:

Self-care, and a strong sense of self-worth, are important parts of being able to strengthen your romantic relationship.

Think about a time when someone paid you a compliment that was true, and because it was deeply meaningful to you, it made you feel like you were on top of the world!

I remember the time a friend of mine stated how she 'just loves the way I celebrate life every single day', and I thought how important it is to me, and how thankful I am that she recognized that in me because it made me feel like I was on track with that goal.

Romance Bucket List:
My husband Paul & I love the movie "The Bucket List". Our favorite moment is when the two main characters, Edward and Carter, accomplish the goal "Laugh until I cry". We share a huge laugh every time we watch that scene.
I can think of many times Paul and I have been sharing stories of life and we found ourselves laughing until tears. What a fun experience!
We are a newer couple, and the stories we share are not stories we've had together. One item on my Romance Bucket List is to share this moment as we reminisce on a memory we've had together. I'm looking forward to it!

Demonstrate Devotion:
Throughout our relationship Mark and I played the "Rose Game". It started when we were dating and had very different schedules. One night Mark drove to my apartment and placed a red rose on my windshield so I would see it before my drive to work. I returned the gesture, hiding a small artificial red rose in his briefcase to find while he was attending University classes. The gesture means "I love you, I'm thinking of you..."
In our 21 years on earth together, we hid them; in the fridge, a cup holder, on the shelf in the shower, even as a decoration on a dessert that came to our table on a cruise! We often involved our children and friends in the game. At Mark's funeral, over 120 long-stemmed red roses individually came to me as people came through the receiving line. Everyone was honoring our romance!
