Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out today with a heavy heart but a whole lot of hope. As many of you know, I've been battling end stage kidney disease. This journey has been tough, filled with overwhelming fatigue, brain fog, nausea and no energy, but I've held on to hope because a kidney transplant would offer me the second chance I desperately need to live a full and healthy life.
Currently, I have two treatment options: receive a living kidney transplant or start dialysis. (We are trying to hold off on the dialysis as long as we can) I had a wonderful donor (not my blood type) donate in my name so I could have a voucher that would help get my name higher up on the list. Cincinnati assures me they are continuing to look for me. They said if I could find one quicker that would be even better for doubling my chances of finding a O kidney since I am O- and I can only receive O. My kidneys are slowly killing my body. A living kidney would save my life!!!!
That's why I'm sharing my story and asking for help in finding a living kidney donor.
I know this is a huge ask, and a big decision. I want to assure you that potential donors are carefully evaluated to ensure they are healthy enough to donate, and most donor surgeries are minimally invasive with a recovery time of usually just two weeks. All medical expenses for the donor are typically covered by my insurance.

Nothing much has happened still. I had Covid again a week or so ago. I seem to be over that finally. Unfortunately I'm type O- blood so I can only have a type O kidney. They assure me they are looking for the best kidney match so that it will last for a very long time. Sometimes it's hard to lose hope. I just know somewhere out there, there is a kidney just for me. We just haven't found it yet. I just have to continue being patient.

Good morning! Hope everyone is doing well! I'm still having a lot of nausea and swelling in my legs but other than that I'm okay. I'm still holding my own for now so no dialysis. My kidney doctor says we will play month by month and hold off on dialysis as long as we can. We are still looking for my perfect match kidney donor. I've been told everything is going well It's just taking a little longer because they want to get a good match with my blood type. I've never been the type to want to sit and be patient, but I'm learning that it will happen in God's time and now I must be patient. I will update again when I have more info. Good morning! Hope you all are well and had a safe July 4th! I just wanted to update everyone since it's been a bit! All my heart tests came back good! I do have LBBB but my heart is strong! We are still waiting on a living kidney that I am compatible with! I talked to the transplant coordinator this morning and she says things are going well. Cincinnati failed to have blood kits sent to my house so they have been testing with my last blood work from March. I completed blood work today so they should be able to start testing with this blood in a few days! She said hopefully I will hear something soon. I sure hope so! My days are spent sleeping and staying nauseous. I can't wait till I am able to have my energy back and be able to enjoy things like hiking etc like I used too! He has scheduled me for a Pet scan of my heart, to make sure everything is good with my heart before I have surgery. He ordered a previous test but my insurance denied that. Things are still moving along. Each day is a day closer to a kidney! Cincinnati is still looking for my donor. Good morning all! To give a quick update I had my medicine induced stress test and heart ultrasound done last week. Everything as far as I know is well. They used dye and said I need to see a cardiologist at the end of this month. I have a LBBB(lower bundle branch block) defect. Nothing major apparently, I was born with it so I'm seeing him to make sure there is nothing new. The donor search is still continuing! My nausea seems to be getting worse. Promethazine and Ondansetron are now my new daily friends. I'm back to sleeping most of the day again. Prayers for the heart Dr appointment to go great and that my living donor is found soon!

Hey guys sorry for not giving any updates. I haven't been feeling the best the past little bit. I'm back to pretty much sleeping the day away, having lots of nausea and basically just feeling worn down. This is basically due to my kidneys continuing to not flush the toxins that are building up in my body.
The daily struggle is getting more uncomfortable. My iron level is low but not low enough for my insurance to pay for iron infusions. The iron pills make me nauseous.
Cincinnati is continuing the hunt for my living donor. UK has lost their Circle of Excellence with my Anthem insurance, so I'm going forward with Cincinnati now.

Everything is going good with Cincinnati! They stay in contact with me more than UK ever did! Please keep me in your prayers! Kidney disease is awful and there are more of us than you would think that has this disease. We may put on a brave face , but in reality we are sicker than we look!

Good evening guys! Thought I would give an update! Nothing much has changed. I'm still waiting on my insurance to finish up all my pre-authorizations etc. So far everything is going well on that part.

I still tire very easily and I'm still anemic. I was actually able to attend a toy/comic con event in Lexington this past weekend. We were only able to attend 2 days but I did fairly well. Shawn surprised me with a meet and greet and a couple photos ops. I got to meet Jason Isaacs who plays Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, and Bill and Death from the Bill & Ted movie! Jason Isaacs was such a nice man and a wonderful guy to talk with! He made the time to spend with each fan and apologized that you had to wait so long!

It was nice to be able to get out some and meet some great people that I haven't gotten to talk to and spend time with in a long time (Emileah this means you) 😁 Staying in the house non-stop is a depressing situation.

Good morning all on this snowy day here in Kentucky. I wanted to give you an update on what's happening.

First of all my voucher donor had their surgery yesterday. Please pray for a quick and easy recovery for them!

Second I've elected to have my surgery in Cincinnati when it happens. I talked to my nurse and he says i will be presented next week. I received my mouth swabs yesterday to find a living donor match. Hopefully within the next couple weeks I can find out more! Thanks for the prayers and keep them coming! Love you all!

I am currently inactive. I am also thankful for the living donor that is giving me a voucher!
