In this week's edition of Fridays With A Funeral Director - Dana explains what to do and who to call when someone passes away at home. In Ohio, a funeral director is not legally allowed to pronounce death and must be officially performed by a physician, hospice nurse, or paramedics. Essentially this follows one of two pathways:

1. If under hospice care - call to notify your hospice company or the hospice nurse
2. If not under hospice care - call for an ambulance. Paramedics can pronounce and will provide proper notifications to the treating primary care provider or the coroner if necessary
