The world can feel really out of control sometimes.

And the truth is, most of it is.

The only thing we really get to control is what we eat...
what we choose to put in our bodies.
And even on the days when that doesn’t go so well... when meals are rushed or nothing goes as planned, I stay consistent with two things.m:
✅My tea ☕️
✅My fiber 🌱
No matter what’s happening around me, those two small rituals ground me.
They’re simple, steady, and always there.

Control doesn’t have to be complicated.
Sometimes it’s just tea and fiber.😀

❄️Monday Motivation❄️

If you’re in the Northeast, happy snow day! I hope you didn’t eat all your snacks... or at least you had your Balance first!

Snow days can throw off our routine, but today is a great chance to reset and refocus.
Let’s shift our mindset this week. Decide that this week you’re going to do one thing that challenges you, something just outside your comfort zone. Hard things don’t have to be huge...just intentional.

A few ideas to challenge yourself this week:
❄️Add a few extra fasting hours or try one 24-hour fast
❄️Try a new food you’re unsure you’ll like
❄️Do a workout you usually avoid
❄️Take a 10–15 minute walk after meals
❄️Speak up in a meeting or conversation instead of staying quiet
❄️Do something alone that you usually avoid (walk, class, movie, errand)
❄️Say no to something that drains you..or yes to something that scares you
❄️Tackle a task you’ve been procrastinating

Growth happens when we get a little uncomfortable. Choose one hard thing and let it move you forward this week.

We can do hard things!🤍

Sitting at your desk all day keeps blood sugar elevated.
Short bursts of movement, 30–60 seconds, help muscles soak up glucose fast.
When insulin stays high, your body stores fat.
When insulin comes down, fat burning can happen.
Move often.
Small bursts = big metabolic wins. 🔥

PSA: Take sun damage seriously 💛

I had PDT today to treat some precancerous spots on my face. After going through Mohs surgery last year, I’m doing everything I can to avoid that again. Regular dermatologist checkups and simple, non-invasive treatments can make a big difference...take care of your skin.

Insulin resistance doesn’t always come with a diagnosis.

It can show up quietly... skin tags, inflammation, high cholesterol, achy joints, constant fatigue, stubborn cravings... and most of us don’t even realize they’re connected.

It’s not about size.
It’s not about willpower.
Awareness is the first step.

Listening to your body matters.
And small changes can make a huge difference.

Nothing is more empowering than going into the holidays knowing you can enjoy all the foods you love without paying the price.

❌No puffiness.
❌No bloating.
❌No food coma.
❌No waking up the next day thinking “Why didn’t I stop?” and then beating yourself up with:

“I have no self-control.”
“It’s genetic.”
“I’ll always feel like this.”

I used to hear (and say) all of that too.

Not anymore.
I don’t skip the pie.
I don’t skip the stuffing.
And I definitely don’t skip the cookies. 🍪
I just drink my Balance before I eat.

It was even tested with a waffle breakfast + syrup + orange juice, and the post-meal glucose spike was reduced by 37%.

Are there carbs and sugar? Of course.

❄️ Snow day plot twist! ❄️

Woke up ready to deliver holiday treats to my ESL tutoring… and instead ended up home alone with a basket of carbs. 🥯🥐

Fresh bagels.
Fresh muffins.
Zero tutoring.

Is it the end of the world? Nope.
Do I love carbs? Absolutely.
I usually try not to start my morning with a carb festival, but hey, life happens.

So before I dive in, I use my secret weapon 👇
