Are you new to my page and wonder what the heck it is that I do? That’s totally fair, massage for animals must be just a luxury, right?
Wrong.
It can be for that, but I am a medical provider licensed by the Washington State Department of Health.
Hi! I am a licensed small animal massage practitioner and I specialize in rehabilitation. Most of my rehab clients come to see me to address: arthritis, ruptured CCL (ACL equivalent) before and or after TPLO, other injuries such as soft tissue or fractures/breaks, hip/elbow dysplasia, allergies such as “hot spots” or hives, neurological issues such as seizures, severe anxiety, aggression, before or after surgeries, illnesses such as kennel cough or parvovirus (I come to you for such illnesses) hospice, senior care, as well as end of life massages. I see others for maintenance massages, addressing tight muscles, weakened muscles, atrophied muscles, fascial restrictions, decreased ROM, limps, depression, and or just for relaxation. I am also wrapping up my new case studies and will soon offer Cold Laser Therapy January 2026.
I also offer a special package just for pets under 30 pounds that struggle in a regular grooming salon due to overstimulation from loud sounds and other animals. I offer packages for one on one bathing. With all bath packages, they soak in a warm filled bath with gentle essential oils to calm them. While soaking they receive gentle massage to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system to help them relax further. They then receive a facial massage with tear free shampoo and we continue with the the bath. This is not only for dogs, but cats and bunnies as well.
I start with a full tub for a couple reasons. One, it takes the pressure off many joints, which relieves pain from many with arthritis specifically our senior pets. The heat also encourages more blood flow that is rich with oxygen to go to the areas of concern. I also use a filled tub to reduce the anxiety of starting with being sprayed. Many anxious dogs struggle with this part. After soaking, when I rinse I make sure the nozzle is close to the skin so it feels relaxing versus being sprayed and irritating to pets who want to eat the water…
We then continue with a full blowout. I take my time. If your pet is new to this loud sound, I begin training them, even if it means it takes twice as long because I’m blow drying them starting out 5 feet away 😂
My blow dryer is in a cabinet, which helps muffle some of the loudness Trust me, this works. Just ask Milo who hated this on day one, and now LOVES the heated blow dryer.
After all is dry, I clean ears and trim nails. Distraction is key to pets who “hate” their nails done. I have treat packed snuffle mats and lots of toys. It works! And it is humane. After all is finished, they receive a 15 minute relaxation massage session.
When you pick up your pet, they will be noticeably calmer and smell fresh and clean. I thrive in a relaxing setting, and so will your pet. There is always soft piano music playing in the Spa.
If you have an anxious pet that is larger than 30 pounds, I contract with a groomer who has a larger set up than I do, and we work side by side with my exact protocol.
When I work with your pet, they ALWAYS come first. As a certified canine specialist and health department licensed small animal massage therapist, I understand what your pet is needing and communicating. I pay very close attention to all of your pet’s feedback which makes them feel safe and in turn they trust me.
I run my private practice on, patience, understanding, compassion and most importantly love.
I truly can improve the quality of your pet’s life with scientifically proven massage techniques. I love teaching pet parents techniques they can continue to use at home too!
Merry Christmas!
