Honored to be part of the recovery process for local heroes like Bobby! Well deserved recognition for sacrifices made keeping our community safe

On March 8, officers tried to stop Traveon Woodberry Jr., who ran after trying to be detained. Once they caught up to Woodberry, officers struggled to arrest him. That is when Officer Robert Leininger was shot in the leg. Today, he was honored with a law enforcement Purple Heart.

While working roadside, this young man was struck by a pickup at full speed. While our patient, Westin, miraculously came away from this accident with his life, he faced extensive number of surgeries, doctor’s appointments and rehab ahead of him.

Westin has demonstrated a tremendous amount of determination and grit through his recovery. Just over 2 year after rolling into our office in a wheelchair to start his rehab journey, Westin and our PTs celebrated his graduation from LFPT with 18 holes of golf! It has been amazing to watch this young man’s recovery, and a great reminder on why we do what we do.
