What is your “pretty?”

Growing up the pressure to be pretty and thin was driven into our brains. That was the goal, that was the dream.

For me now it looks like being:
Authentic.
Nurturing.
Ambitious.
Happy.
Loved.
Fulfilled.
Pretty damn proud of myself.

It’s diet culture dressed up as wellness.

Detoxes. Food rules. Protein in everything. Eating curfews. “Just be mindful.” 😵‍💫

Hunger isn’t a problem to fix, it’s biological. Your body doesn’t need diet tricks. It needs food. 🍽️

Why are we still glamorizing diet trends
that thrive on restriction, fear, and control, then being shocked when you feel burnt out, are bingeing, or feel broken? 💔

This isn’t wellness. It’s rebranded harm.

If a diet/wellness trend feels “successful” at first, ask what it’s costing long-term:

Your relationship with food,
Your trust in your body,
Your mental health.

What won’t your child hear you say?

We know that is parenting is HARD.

I frankly can’t imagine how much harder it would be if I was still at war with food or my body.

That doesn’t mean I never have hard thoughts, but if they show up, they don’t hijack my entire day or impact my son. I can notice them, meet myself with compassion, and move on.

YOU can make peace with food and your body, genuinely improve your health, and still eat the foods you love with the people you love and love you. 🍩

Recovery isn’t linear.

It’s not calm. It’s not consistent. And it’s not pretty.

Some days you eat and feel proud.
Some days you eat and feel panicked.
Some days you don’t feel strong, but you refuse to quit.

Struggling doesn’t cancel out your progress. Fear doesn’t erase your effort. Hard days are not a step backward, they’re part of the process. 😌

If recovery feels messy, exhausting, or painfully slow, it’s supposed to. You’re doing something incredibly hard!

Not every eating disorder looks like malnutrition.

But restriction, bingeing, and constant food-obsessed thoughts can still change your brain.

You don’t have to be underweight, visibly sick, or “not eating at all” for your nervous system and life to be impacted.

This isn’t about who’s “sick enough.”
It’s about how the brain responds when food, safety, or permission to eat is limited.

There’s no single road to recovery and what helps one person may not help you. Restriction or bingeing, in any form, keeps you stuck.

If you’re struggling, it’s not a failure of insight or effort, it’s a signal worth listening to. You can do this and you’re not alone. 💛

Restricting can lead to over eating or bingeing

Eating a wide variety of foods including protein, carbs, tat, vegetables, and fruit is key. This will help you feel satistied ano energized.

And when you're craving something, eat it.

There are no "good" or "bad" foods
