As a therapist, I am committed to helping my clients be the best they can be. This is an uphill battle when my clients’ lives are threatened on the daily by the world we live in. We know that racism, sexism, cis-sexism, homophobia aren’t just “bad” but they are bad for us and they negatively impact mental health and physical health.

The personal is political. The political is personal. Mental health is political and personal. My politics are informed by my care and concern for my clients and I believe that systems of oppression must be dismantled in order to promote true mental health.

I am committed to making my therapy sessions a safe space for clients from all backgrounds and am clear that my work as an ally will never end. I am committed to working with clients who are willing to trust me as an ally. This means I commit to avoiding microaggressions, apologizing when/if I micro-aggress, having difficult conversations, clarifying assumptions, asking questions, and centering your experience.

I believe Black Lives Matter. I believe matter is the MINIMUM.
