The Mediterranean Diet has been widely acknowledged as the healthiest diet, because it is largely plant-based and includes loads of healthy fats. It can reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease, increase your lifespan, and promote healthy aging.
Here are some tips on adding some of the Mediterranean diet in yo life!
• Cut back on red meat 🥩 🙅🏽♀️ (only for special occasions)
• Swap out refined sugars for natural ones (dates/honey/maple syrup are my go-to’s)
• Add more fruits and veggies to your meals
• Eat dairy and eggs in moderation
• Consume wild-caught and sustainable fish a few times a week
• Clean and healthy fats in the form of oils and nuts (olive and avocado oils, almonds and walnuts, etc)
• Boost flavor with herbs and spices over salt
• Exercise regularly
This diet is super satiating (because clean protein, healthy fats and whole grains), and boosts your energy like you wouldn’t believe! Give it a try!!!
