Teaching Artist Jimmy Saldivar

Highlighting artists in our ecosystem who illustrate revolutionary visions contributing to paradigm-shifting movements that transcend boundaries and honor our ancestral ways.

Jimmy Saldivar is a first generation Chicano visual artist and student at Cal State LA. Working primarily in screen printing, he also practices acrylic painting, ceramics, and printmaking using imagery inspired by Mexican-American popular culture and history.

Did you know we are situated in the historic Coyolxauhqui Plaza?

The heart of City Terrace is home to a replica of the sacred stone - a symbol of transformation, renewal, and healing.

On the very day we signed our lease, the beat del tambor y el olor a copal nos llamo. The artist who created the replica was holding a ceremony in her honor. It was the most beautiful blessing, welcoming us with ancestral prayer and purpose.

A confirmation that we are walking nuestro camino sagrado. That we are precisely where we need to be.

We carry the strength of our ancestors as we build a space for creation, cultura, and community - rooted in memory, resilience, and collective healing. ✊🏽

The New Moon in Scorpio invites a quiet, necessary release, the kind that comes from the body. Many of us are carrying not just our own emotions, but the collective weight of these times.

Ventosas help ease that heaviness. They open the muscles, move stagnant tension, and create space to breathe again.

If your body has been asking for relief, renewal, or simply a place to let go, you’re welcome to join.

This ventosas offering is for our bodies, our hearts, and our spirits. It is for the grief we carry in our chest, the anger that lives in our muscles, and the exhaustion that weighs heavy from daily life and the wider world. Through fire, stagnant energy is released, flow is restored, and the spirit remembers its balance. It all still feels so surreal. Lo logramos. Sanando nuestras heridas y las que cargamos de generaciones atrás. El camino rojo. The most treacherous walk. Muriéndonos hacia el altar. Hacia nuestro ser superior. Tlazocamatli creator for getting us here even in the moments we thought we would never make it. For pushing us beyond measure - to no longer get in the way of stepping into our purpose and sharing our gifts.

In complete awe of the overwhelming support we received on our grand opening! A testament to the need for intentional, culturally rooted arts and wellness spaces. This is by us, for us!

While incredibly powerful and reaffirming, fear and doubt has inevitably presented itself. Breakdowns and breakthroughs. Quien somos? Como le vamos hacer?
