Over 100 million adults in the U.S. are living with diabetes or prediabetes, and 1 in 9 adults are affected by cognitive decline. Latinos are at higher risk for diabetes and Alzheimer's disease, but are underrepresented in research. At the University of Southern California (USC), we want to improve prevention and treatment options for everyone. We are seeking participants for an ongoing study to investigate the link between diabetes and brain health. If you are between the ages of 50 and 65 years and of Latin descent, you may be able to help! The Diabetes Brain Study (DBS), led by Hussein Yassine, MD, Meredith Braskie, PhD, and Matthew Borzage, PhD, invites you to participate in a study at the USC Health Sciences Campus for memory assessments, lab testing, and imaging scans. All tests are provided at no cost to you or your insurance, and you will be compensated for your time. Scheduling is flexible, and friends and family members are encouraged to participate together. We offer transportation and free parking.
