We strive for the following:

Promote, educate and disseminate information about safe, sustainable – local food production and organic gardening techniques. Beautify the neighborhood and provide social gathering space and landscaping that incorporates native and adapted, drought tolerant plants. Providing social events to bring together local gardeners and neighbors such as potlucks, harvest shares, or farmers markets, to support the gardens we create together. The ultimate goal is to create a greater sense of community through our shared love of local organically grown food. In the post pandemic future we want to provide opportunities for youth groups to take part in ‘hands-on’ learning about sustainable food, healthy lifestyles, and nutrition. Help foster a greater sense of community by involving the local neighborhoods and volunteer organizations in creating permanent features of the garden such as common area features, native perennial gardens, and other forms of local artworks. Give back to the community by participating in programs such as “Food Forward” that set aside a portion of the harvest for local food banks in need of local, unprocessed foods. Provide workshops and education opportunities for families, individuals and children on a variety of topics including, but not limited to: nutrition, gardening techniques, composting, healthy food preparation and other topics of choice

Plant vegetables and herbs from seed: after the last chance for frost (around mid-month) and the soil warms, cultivate your vegetable garden soil down about one foot. Add organic soil planting amendments. Plant warm-season vegetable seeds including tomatoes, peppers, green beans, cucumbers, squash, eggplant, onion, potatoes, spinach, turnips and corn.
It's also the time to plant herbs from seed such as basil, mint, oregano, parsley & rosemary.
You can still plant cool-season vegetables including broccoli, lettuce, cabbage and kale.
Good crops that can be planted now and year round are carrots, beets and radishes
