I don’t know who I’m talking to but the Spirit of the Lord is saying, “You didn’t wait.”

Somebody is experiencing a deep and painful process and you’ve been doing everything except wait on the Lord. Your emotions are in charge, and the enemy is using you to abuse your mind.

In an unfamiliar place, in an unexpected place, you have to wait on the Lord by waiting in the Lord. Wait in prayer, wait in the fruit, wait in the word. Wait in praise, wait in speaking life.

The strength you need, the clarity you need, the boldness you need to handle this thing, to get back up, to resist the devil, is in your wait.

The Bible declares, “Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD” (Psalm 27:14). You need what God has for you before you can do what God said you could do. You’re not in a position or condition to fight. This is your waiting season...

If you wait on the Lord, the Bible declares, “But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).

You’re not just waiting on God, you’re waiting in God. In His promise, in His truth, in His Holy Spirit. Put down the weight and pick up your wait. God is going to give you what you need, send what you need, show you what you need, to do what you need to do.

The battle is not yours, it’s the Lords. Wait for your marching orders, wait for your clarity, wait for your mind to stop running, wait for your doubt to stop leading. Wait on the Lord.

I need some folks who are in a waiting season to decree and declare, “I will wait on the Lord!”

A little that a righteous man has
Is better than the riches of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
But the LORD upholds the righteous.
— Psalm 37:16-17 NKJV

Psalm 37 compares and contrasts the righteous and the wicked. In general, the Psalm teaches that it goes well for the righteous and not well for the wicked. Our verse for today compares and contrasts the righteous and the wicked when it comes to finances. In this area of life, just like all the others, it is better to be righteous than wicked.

This is true even if the righteous are not wealthy. The Psalm is not saying, however, that one can only be righteous if one is poor. The Bible is full of passages that contradict that idea. Here's just one example: "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children" (Proverbs 13:22). It would be impossible to leave an inheritance without storing up some wealth. Rather, then, the Psalm is saying that it is better to be righteous even if it means having only a little.

Further, it is better to be righteous than wicked even if the wicked are wealthy. The Psalm is not saying, however, that the wicked are always wealthy. The Bible is full of passages that contradict that idea. Here's just one example: "the stomach of the wicked shall be in want" (Proverbs 13:25). You can't be wealthy if you can't feed yourself. Rather, then, the Psalm is saying that it is worse to be wicked even if it means having great wealth.

The reason why it is worse to be wicked even if it means having great wealth is that "the arms of the wicked shall be broken." That is, the personal attributes and abilities the wealthy rely upon to gain them their wealth shall be broken. God resists the proud (James 4:6). He resists those who rely on themselves and the wealth they have stored up instead of relying on Him.

The reason why it is better to be righteous even if it means having little, on the other hand, is that "the LORD upholds the righteous." That is, the LORD helps those who have little to make it in life despite their lack. God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). He upholds those who rely on Him instead of relying on themselves.

Although you may have little, you have something more valuable than anything the wicked have. You have the LORD on your side.

Today’s Scripture

"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You."
(Isaiah 26:3, NKJV)

Find Peace Today

Do you need peace in your life today? Are you feeling frustrated, hopeless or like things are beyond your control? The first question to ask yourself is, “What do I have my mind set on? What am I thinking about?” If you are focused solely on your circumstances or how impossible everything is, it’s going to affect your peace level. But when you keep your mind stayed on God and what He can do in your life, when you get your mind going in the right direction, then you are setting yourself up for peace.

You may be going through difficulty today; you may be in overwhelming circumstances in your life; however, God still promises you peace in the midst of the storm. He promises that He will preserve you when you call on Him. Choose to keep your mind focused on the Father. Be empowered by meditating on His Word. Find peace today by putting your trust and hope in Him.

A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for peace that passes understanding. I receive it as a blanket of comfort to my heart, mind and emotions. I choose to keep my mind stayed on You and thank You for ordering my steps in Jesus’ name. Amen. "

Today’s Scripture

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness...”
(2 Corinthians 12:9, NIV)

Sufficient Grace

Everyone has days when they feel weak or times when they feel overwhelmed. But God has given us His grace to carry us through these difficult times and empower us to move forward in victory.

Scripture says God’s grace is sufficient. The word sufficient simply means competent, enough or qualified. That means you always have whatever you need by His grace. You will never face anything that God’s grace cannot empower you to move through. We serve a God who is more than enough, and His grace is more than enough, too! Anytime you feel weak, remember, when you rely on His grace, that is when you are at your strongest. When you feel like you can’t go on, that’s when He will carry you by His grace.

Today, remember, no matter what you may be facing, you’re not facing it alone. You are not without hope, you are not without resources, and you are not without answers because His grace is sufficient! His grace is all you need to be equipped to move forward into His victory.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You for Your sufficient grace. Thank You for empowering me and equipping me no matter what I may be facing. Today, I lift my eyes to You for You are my help. I receive Your grace for everything I need in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
