Congratulations to my fellow Dr. George William James for the being the 4th graduate of the USC Spine Physical Therapy Fellowship Program!
-
Celebrations were held at the 2025 USC Residency and Fellowship Dinner this weekend and I could not be more proud for William and the program! There are only 5 Spine Physical Therapy Fellowships in the nation so graduates are very distinguished and represent a very small portion of physical therapists in the United States!

Very proud of my former student publishing some much needed literature on the topic! Appendix gives a nice guideline of what she did to help this patient in postoperative rehab!

🔥🔥🔥Hot off the press🔥🔥🔥

In addition to our review on the current diagnosis and management of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures, we bring you a new guideline regarding neoplastic vertebral compression fractures! It was a pleasure working with my colleagues at NASS!

The North American Spine Society’s (NASS) Evidence-Based Clinical Guideline for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Adults with Neoplastic Vertebral Fractures features evidence-based recommendations for diagnosing and treating adult patients with neoplastic vertebral fractures. The guideline is intended to reflect contemporary treatment concepts for neoplastic vertebral fractures as reflected in the highest quality clinical literature available on this subject as of October 2020

SPINE PHYSICAL THERAPY FELLOWSHIP

Low back and neck pain are common causes of disability world-wide. Spine pain is often poorly recognized and managed, leading to the development of chronic pain as well as overutilization of imaging, medication, surgery and specialist office visits. Since most spine pain can be managed conservatively, there is a need for primary care healthcare professionals who possess skills in early recognition and appropriate management of spine pain to provide improved patient outcomes and decrease healthcare costs.

The mission of our Spine Physical Therapy Fellowship is to graduate advanced practitioners of spine physical therapy specialty practice who will express their education through excellence and leadership in the practice and teaching of clinical skills, expand the body of knowledge by participating in and/or conducting and disseminating clinically relevant research, and make a lasting contribution to society through service to their community and profession.

Application deadline is March 31. Interviews will be held in April. Applicants should apply at the RF-PTCAS Portal. Make sure to indicate you are applying for the USC Spine Physical Therapy Fellowship.
