I just saw a lovely conversation with the amazing actress Michelle Yeoh - michelleyeoh_offical - speaking candidly about her journey with fertility and that she was never able to have children. And she spoke very clearly about the practice of acceptance through that process.

It made me think about the guided meditation that I just created in my private practice on the art of acceptance. This meditation — found in our bio link above —was originally inspired by the recent election results, but truly applies to all aspects of life’s ups and downs.

Sharing your story liberates your heart and ignites your healing. It also helps someone else to have the courage to do the same.

If you are experiencing stress and feelings of isolation, please know you are not alone.

Support groups (we hold one weekly!— link in bio) and organizations are in place to help you navigate all you may be feeling.

Even the most loving, attentive, and supportive partner cannot witness you in the same way as those who have (or currently are) going through it can.

In some instances, it’s necessary to see a Mental Health Practitioner who specializes in fertility issues and journeys. Incredible resources can be found on Resolve () and in the We Are Robyn () website directory!

Having “fun” amid the often stressful times of the fertility journey can seem damn near impossible!

What if you got curious and permitted yourself to take a “fertility break” for 24-48 hours, 3-5 days, or maybe an entire week? The two-week wait may actually be the exact right time! Practice just focusing on living your life. What potential fun stuff could you get yourself into?

Think about some things you enjoyed doing before this time in your life. Go to the spa with a girlfriend (but avoid the sauna or hot tub), a day adventure with your partner, or maybe a movie by yourself.

Having “fun” releases endorphins and stress. It reminds us of the simple yet powerful ways we can find much-needed balance and begin to feel a little more like “ourselves” again.

PAUSE. 🤍🤍🤍

In October, we pause to bring awareness, deep empathy, and compassion to those who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss.

Although this is not an easy topic to discuss or even imagine, it is vital to discuss it and hold space for those who have had this experience.

The depth of pain and trauma associated with these losses can be profound and lasting.

Sometimes, individuals and their partners suffer in silence because sharing the news with others feels too shameful or heavy. And if we are brave enough to share our stories, family, and friends often do not know what to say in response to such tragic news.

If you have suffered this loss, please know that you are not alone.

Join us (and the world) on this day, October 15th, and light a candle in remembrance of your pregnancy and infant loss(es), and send love and light to your fellow fertility warriors.

Mind-Body Practices for Fertility 💫

• Practicing Gratitude •

What if you consciously chose to find gratitude for everything (and yes, I mean everything) in your life right now? The things you are “happy” with but also (and in some ways, more importantly) all of the things that are not “going your way?”

Once you take a moment to reflect upon this, I ask you to remember the Buddhist concept of non-attachment. It teaches us to be non-attached to the “dark” side (what we don’t like or want, being uncomfortable, etc.) JUST as much as we are non-attached to the “light” (when things are pleasant, getting what we want, etc.).

What ultimately helps us navigate the world from this more “balanced” place is cultivating an attitude of peace, love, joy, contentment, gratitude—you find the word that works best for you.

This teaches us to respond to life rather than just react. It is also something we can control! And that feels empowering.
