Back in the day when I was on the dieting/ binge eating roller coaster, I would have phases of overeating, starving, isolating, and then ultimately researching what diet I would start next..
I had specific foods that I would label as “good” or “bad” and I would judge myself so harshly if I ate something that was not on my diet plan.
Diet culture teaches us to detach from our bodies. Diet culture teaches us that we are not good enough.
Challenge yourself to take on a new approach! Connect with your body and honor your cravings! Eat when you feel physically hungry and stop when you start to feel that you are satisfied or close to full.
This is easier said than done after a lifetime of dieting, but it is possible!
Thank you to my dear friend John who always made me feel welcome, who always showed me kindness, and even encouraged me to incorporate healthy foods into my diet when I was struggling with binge eating.
AND on a side note, the next time you are in LA, you must check out Carneys on Sunset! It’s the best burger in town!!
