Addiction Disorders Research Foundation (ADRF) is a non-profit organization supporting breakthrough research to help combat some of the most serious problems related to addiction such as the current opioid crisis. ADRF seeks to support important and timely addiction research and treatments that arenot otherwise funded. ADRF believes that deeper scientific understanding is an essential part of the
fight against addiction. We are working with promising scientists in translational neuroscience, neurobiology, medicine, and psychology to better understand the biology of self-control and addiction. We apply the results of our research to better and more cost-effective treatment for those suffering from addiction. ADRF supports promising research initiatives, whether they be in established laboratories and institutions or young scientists. Additionally, ADRF collaborates with treatment providers, research and educational institutions looking to test new treatment approaches. ADRF was founded in 2006 to address the lack of funding for necessary addiction research. We are proud to be the only private, non-university, foundation supporting addiction research in the U.S. ADRF is managed by a Board of Directors whose members share a common concern for addictions and are committed to using science to meet this critical challenge. ADRF also relies on an Advisory Board which includes several leading national authorities in the area of addiction research committed to focusing the Foundation’s resources into the most promising research initiatives.
