The Oscars this year were incredible, with so much amazing talent on display. But for us, it’s really about the people behind it like Dave Taylor in his 37th year and Frank McMinn in his 34th, alongside an incredible team whose passion and dedication are what truly bring every moment to life.

If you want to know more of what we do behind the scenes. See the interview with Dave Taylor for Live Design.

Your audience will forget most of what was said at your last event. But they’ll never forget how it made them feel.

That’s the difference between a traditional event and one people actually remember. And it starts with one thing most events skip: a story arc.

Every great event moves through three emotional beats. It opens with tension — something your audience feels, not just hears. Builds through the middle as belief shifts and energy rises. Then lands with a resolution that moves people to act.
Tension. Build. Resolution. That’s the blueprint for any event that drives action.

Drop a comment if you’ve ever left an event thinking “great content… but so what?”

In this post, Keith shares his thoughts on what’s happening in our brains during a live event and how being together in a shared space impacts us. His passion for storytelling and what unfolds on a live stage shows how powerful those moments can be and why they stay with us.

In this week’s video, Dave talks about how real connection happens before, during and after the event and why engaging your audience at every stage is what turns an event into a lasting experience.

Keith is always talking about story and how important it is. Most corporate messaging is full of buzzwords and forgettable stats, but when you tell real stories about people, challenges and breakthroughs you create emotion. That is something people actually remember.

In this post Dave talks about how people don’t remember stats, they remember how you made them feel. That’s why stories work. When we get pulled into a story, emotions take over and the message sticks. So next time you pitch or present, don’t lead with numbers. Lead with meaning.

Every great event starts with a powerful character, someone real, vulnerable and authentic. When the right voice takes the stage, the audience doesn’t just listen, they see themselves and leave changed.

We’re not wired for screens.
We’re wired for face-to-face connection.
Trust, emotion and understanding happen faster in the same room.
That’s not strategy. That’s biology.

I met Gianluca about three years ago, and right away there was something about his energy that pulled you in. His personality was infectious. As we spent more time together and I heard his journey from Italy, to taking a leap into a new country, starting from scratch, and building a life through food, it was impossible not to be inspired.

I asked him if he’d be open to telling his story, not just as a chef, but through his passion for creating experiences for people. He didn’t hesitate for a second. That’s how this film began.

We were incredibly fortunate to be given full access to his world, his family, his home and his everyday life. The timing made it even more special with his dad visiting Toronto from Italy during production. Every dish he creates tells a story, from what he experienced as a kid in Italy to where his journey is now.

Our team lives for stories like this. Building them, shaping them, and bringing them to life is what fuels us creatively.

Throughout my time in this business, it’s always been about connection. Staying true to who we are and telling great stories. It’s about attention to detail and sharing our experiences with the community.

Most events focus on what’s said, but when you design the scene with cinematic framing and lighting, you don’t just put someone on a stage, you turn the moment into a story people can feel and remember.
