Attention PLTS, on Tuesday, December 2nd, we will be having an admissions and QnA webinar with Rosanne D. Ibanez, the director of admissions from the University of Virginia, School of Law! This will be a unique opportunity to learn more about the admissions process at UVA and get answers to any questions you may have.

Rosanne D. Ibanez earnde her B.A. in psychology and sociology at the University of Virginia, and her J.D. from the University of Richmond. Before her career in law school admissions, Ibanez served as an attorney magistrate for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and during her tenure she became certified in court management and crisis intervention. She was a two-time recepient of research grants from the Department of Criminal Justice Services and the Office of Violence Against Women. Before joining the UVA admissions office, Ibanez was the associate director of admissions, recruitment, and outreach at the University of Richmond School of Law.

John Hoyt shared valuable insights regarding the admissions process, what they look for in applicants, as well as answering questions that our members had. Bria Watson will be sharing insights, advice, and answering any questions you may have regarding the admissions process at UC Berkeley School of Law. 📝Bria Watson earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, and an M.B.A from the University of California, Irvine - The Paul Merage School of Business with en emhapsis in arts, entertainment, and media management. Bria Watson has evaluated over 7000 first-year and over 300 transfer applications for JD admission with a team of six. Additionally, Bria Watson oversees for and plans law school events, tours, and engagement with Student Ambassadors. Bria Watson is a knowledgeable and experienced speaker who will be advising on the application process and answering any questions you may have.

Hey everyone! We hope everyone is doing well during midterm season.

We are thrilled to announce our first alumni panel of the year, featuring Michelle Heravi, Saeed Ahmad, and Ruth Kachatorian. The event will be held next Thursday, November 6th, at 6:00pm in Bunche Hall 3170. Mark your calendars, we hope to see you all there!

“Michelle Heravi is an Associate at DLA Piper’s Century City office, where she works in the Structured Finance group and also has experience with the firm’s Entertainment & AI teams. She earned her J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 2025, where she served as President of Law Women, helping guide 1Ls through the OCI Big Law Firm recruiting process. Michelle also served as a writing advisor for the 1L Legal Research and Writing program, and she was also an active member of the LEAD Organization. Prior to law school, she graduated from UCLA in 2021, where she was President of the Pre-Law Transfer Society. During her first summer of law school, Michelle gained hands-on experience at an entertainment law firm, deepening her interest in the intersection of law, business, and media.”

“Saeed Ahmad is a Pakistani-American attorney and incoming corporate associate at a Big-Law firm in New York City. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from UCLA in 2020, and served as the President of the Pre-Law Transfer Society while at UCLA. Saeed then earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was awarded the Dean’s Award for Community Leadership at graduation. He then served as a Visiting Fellow at the HLS Religious Freedom Clinic, and as a Teaching Assistant with the Advantage Testing Foundation.”

“Ruth earned her B.A. in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations in 2020 and earned her J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 2025 where she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the nation’s top ranked health law journal, the American Journal of Law & Medicine. She currently works at Ropers Majeski, a midsized law firm in Los Angeles doing commercial litigation and insurance & reinsurance work.”

LeAnn Pham will be speaking about her experience throughout the law school application process, along with a Q&A session, so be prepared to come with any important questions you may have!
