An intense table tennis match can be exhausting. 🥵
Same with an intense workday. Sweaty, sore, and depleted, ideally you’d have 30 minutes for a shower, cool drink, and a meal. But another match awaits you at the table. Or another client awaits your presentation in a Zoom room.
💪🏼 This is where ready position comes in. If you’ve strengthened yours through conditioning, reps, and mental training, fatigue doesn’t have to mean flailing.
Ready position allows:
⁃ Recovery without disengagement
⁃ Fatigue without collapse
⁃ Pause without loss of readiness
Practical tip: Build a 60-second reset ritual – three deep breaths, a shoulder shake-out, a focusing cue word or phrase – whatever works for you in real life.
Practice it in low-stakes moments so it's automatic when you're feeling depleted. 🏓🚀
