Day THREE of toom me to my second of three workshops with as welp as a very crowded session on working with Parkinson's clients (I knew and practice a lot of this already, so it was validating), worked out at the WOOT WOOT megacircuit ive shown in other posts, GREAT workshop on turning time into money (not exactly what I anticipated, but helpful as far as organizing), and the class featured in this photo, I'm right up front with instructor Krystal) TRX YOGA FLOW! 😍

Since this class I had two free weeks to use the TRX app and ive been learning a lot of new moves I can use in different scenarios with my clients.

I'm so grateful to have attended these workshops, lectures and workouts at IDEA! Its always an inspiration and I can't wait to share my new insight with my own clients. I'm obviously especially excited about the new toys and tools I can use for the hands and feet to stimulate the senses. 💕

Awesome yoga with at the Wildflower Center in Austin, TX! I loved her teaching style, quickly moving us through poses, making maximum use of 45 minutes. Yet she never seemed rushed. It was such a beautiful setting and a great class! I recommend for anyone in the area 💕

Personal trainers have to practice what they preach.

I have two clients nursing injuries right now. I suspect it takes extra motivation to RICE on their own, so I have been encouraging them to end our sessions with enough time allocated to Ice the injuries.

I did yoga this am and started feeling pain again in the ankle I sprained March 19. So I'm resting, icing, compressing And elevating. Its important to do what is best and listen to our bodies. If we ignore the signals, we are likely to extend the recovery period, and/or make the injuries worse. I'm not one for lying around, but I've learned enough in my time to take my own advice. I don't want to live with pain or disability if don't have to. I don't want anyone else to either.

I'm satisfied to be called a "meditator" when only 32% of my activity is sleep yoga nidra lol. The important things to note:

1. I love this app.
2. Being a trainer does NOT mean you don't have to work out on your own.
3. Many of these workouts are 20-30 mins. Its a very short time to fit in a great workout. The short times allow me to participate regularly, and never make excuses to miss even a short stretch.
4. Fitness is part of holistic "wellness," and must be combined with other healthy self care methods, in order to practice wellness.
5. I do love for many reasons, but sleep is ever so important, and I honestly would suffer without his guided sleep meditation.
6. I actually do more strength training and Pilates than my stats lead you to believe.
7. My friend and I did a four week yoga course with this year. It was fun to chat with each other and hold ourselves accountable to the 5day/four week course. It was an epic value, $30 for 20 workouts. I'm looking forward to my next course with starting in January.
8. I'm not posting this for ego, to boast, OR to feel like I didn't do enough. I'm sharing my stats because I'm proud of every moment I've spent on self care, and I hope and encourage you to feel the same. Hopefully this inspires you to recognize all the hard work you've done in multiple fields this year. Please pat yourself on the back, give yourself some love, and plan on working just as hard in 2023. You are worth all the hard work!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Behind the scenes! This is what I work on the month ahead of time. Here is my work in progress. I put together exercises and different formats for my clients and group classes. As one month becomes the next, I will choose from these exercises to develop routines, changing as I go. I like to change up my client's styles and routines every 4-6 weeks, not only to offer variety (YES!!!) but also to avoid plateau and offer support to functional movement using different approaches. I have three white boards lol. Have a great day and do some burpees if you have a chance 🏋🏽😘

Super excited to get a stellar deal (thanks to a client friend) on this deluxe weight lifting bench!

I've been working on devotion to a new program style every 12 weeks. For the next four weeks I'm working on anterior/posterior chain lifting, so my muscles don't get too worn out day to day.

I'll be starting my 2nd full week tomorrow, and up until this point, I've been googling and experimenting with how do to gym-workouts, with all the fabulous equipment I have at home. I've enjoyed that process as well. Having said that, leg extensions, hamstring curls are in my future, thanks to my new bench!

All this to say... I know its hard to stay motivated, but use the resources you have (including support networks) to find routines that work for you during these stay-at -home times. And then stick with that system for number of weeks (I choose 12 weeks with a progression every 4 weeks to keep my body challenged). Track your progressions, congratulate your advancements, celebrate your participation, and do epic s**t! 😘
