It’s important to pay attention to the signals the body is sending and receiving. Endorphins released by stretching and working out can block pain receptors and in some cases we are confused about the pain sensation we feel post yoga/exercise.

Massage acupuncture and stretching is useful for temporary relief from pain. During this period of rehabilitation it’s important to address your bodies functional movement patterns to avoid re-injuring that area. You need to educate yourself on YOUR body awareness; proprioception, strength, stability, and patterns. Like RuPaul says, “you better work!”

Wanted to share some more information about needles and different types and thoughts behind them.
I don’t believe one is better than the other but combining them as complementary mediums is my preference.
I don’t trust acupuncturist who disregard modern medicine and the same thing for MD’s who disregard acupuncture as medicine. It’s not this OR that, rather it’s this AND that.

And those who will look on and say self -deprecatingly, ‘I’ll never be able to do that’ is because you won’t take the time.
And if you have practiced for years and still can’t get into lotus, don’t try harder. Take the time to work smarter. Put in time with PAILS and RAILS. Take the time to explore why, which muscles, what is happening?

Sunday’s are for led practice and preparing for the week. Although most everything is digital these days. I still appreciate the analog calendar and still images.
Pro tip: if your eyes are getting strained, look at the leaves on a tree. The color green is a powerful antidote to your computer screen.

There are three types of students. The first student picks the shortest line and stays in that path until the very end, even if the teacher is broken, or the path becomes distorted.
The second student changes teachers and styles of yoga because the next one is always looking more promising.
The third type of student picks the shortest path but when they discover the pathway is blocked or is causing harm, they will change course and stick with the next path.
Which student are you?

Science is not truth. Science is finding the truth. As yoga is not a union. Yoga is finding that connection. First with yourself, then with others, and sharing the truth we uncover and listening to others truths.
It’s not a set sequence, a numbered count, a linear progression. It’s messy. It has room for everyone.
