Basil is an herb found in the Lamiaceae family...also known as the mint family. It is known for its vibrant aroma and unique taste in some of our favorite dishes.  The sweet basil is used primarily for cooking.  We also see it muddled in some alcoholic drinks & used as toppers on pizzas, salads and pastas.

Holy basil has been used by Ayurvedic practices for many years to help reduce inflammation, prevent viruses,.and to also reduce stress if eaten daily.

So WHY NOT EAT MORE?

It is rich in Vitamin K which is essential for heart and bone health.  Just 2 tbsp. can give you 18% of the RDA. FYI:  If you are taking blood thinners, be aware of the amount of Vitamin K you ingest. It is also full of antioxidants to help fight free radicals (those nasty unstable molecules)  that build up in the body and lead us down a disease path.

Basil in an essential oil compound may help reduce inflammation such as arthritis or ulcers.  It also can help to prevent viruses from turning to infections.

I don’t know about you...but this amazing herb sounds like an easy way for us to reduce our inflammation markers & prevent some issues from arising... and it tastes so good!

Here are some ways to add basil to your daily menu:

- Watermelon & basil salad... so yummy!  And top it with some pistachios.
- Caprese salad or sandwich with mozzarella, tomatoes & balsamic vinegar...with     basil as your topper!  And add it to pizza as well...
- Make homemade pesto sauce with fresh basil!  WOW!
- Sweet potato recipe: topped with basil (see recipe below)
- Top avocado toast with basil leaves
-  Add to pasta dishes with whole or sliced basil leaves

So, as we move into Spring and the weather begins to change often from cold & windy
to warm & sunny... our immune system may suffer to keep up with the ever so blasting particles &
spores that attack us.  And if you already struggle with a compromised immune system, you might find yourself
with a runny nose, headaches & a sore throat.  This popular spice, tumeric has been used for decades as
an anti-inflammatory ingredient in supplements, shakes & teas.

The anti-inflammatory ingredient turmeric (active ingredient is curcumin) has many health benefits...

- may boost immune system
- may reduce arthritis symptoms
- may protect liver from damaging toxins
- may help improve symptoms of IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) and more...

GIVE THIS TEA A TRY... and give yourself a boost of support & it taste good too!

Do you find that the more you eat your sweets, the more you want sweets?

So why do we love sugar so much?

The sweet taste on our tongue and in our mouth trigger the nerve cells or neurons in our brain, changing our perception or awareness through the senses. This perception will immediately change and shift your entire self, searching for more sugary foods & even more food in general.

Notice when you take a bite of something sweet (like chocolate), that right as you stop eating it, you start to want that pleasure feeling again so you look for more of the sweet thing. And sometimes, it's hard to stop just at 1 bite or 1 piece!

Science has proven... SUGAR INTAKE MAKES YOU CRAVE MORE SUGAR!

What if there's something that can help stop the craving?

WellCurb+ can!

I have spent a lot of time formulating this special blend to help you curb sugar cravings and increase energy!

Quite a few of my clients are using this and have great results!

Managing cravings, especially for chocolate, can be challenging, but there are strategies you can employ to help curb them. Here are some tips:
- Stay Hydrated: Sometimes, cravings can be confused with dehydration. Make sure you're drinking enough water throughout the day.
- Eat Balanced Meals: Ensure your meals contain a balance of carbohydrates, protein, and healthy fats. This can help keep your blood sugar levels stable, reducing the likelihood of cravings.
- Incorporate Protein: Including protein-rich foods in your meals and snacks can help you feel full and satisfied for longer, reducing the urge to snack on chocolate.
- Choose Healthy Alternatives: Opt for healthier alternatives to chocolate when possible, such as dark chocolate with a high cocoa content (70% or higher), which contains less sugar and may satisfy your craving with less quantity.
- Practice Mindful Eating: Pay attention to your body's hunger and fullness cues. Before reaching for chocolate, ask yourself if you're truly hungry or if you're eating out of habit or boredom.
- Manage Stress: Stress can trigger cravings for comfort foods like chocolate. Practice stress-relieving techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or exercise to help manage stress levels.
- Get Enough Sleep: Lack of sleep can disrupt hormones that regulate hunger and appetite, potentially leading to increased cravings. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night.
