Residents enjoyed a calming and restorative sound healing therapy session. One resident shared that she looks forward to the monthly sessions, saying they help her sleep more soundly and reduce feelings of anxiety — even describing it as “better than a glass of wine.” Another resident remarked that the therapy was helping to ease her physical discomfort and left her feeling rejuvenated. 🎶

The Joyce Eisenberg-Keefer Medical Center hosted a special floral arranging event where residents also learned about environmental sustainability! 🌿 The California Climate Action Corps team brought recycled jars to repurpose as vases, and even flowers from CSUN’s garden.

The team discussed sustainability and the importance of collecting and recycling green waste. Following the activity, they collected the excess leaves and stems, so they could be brought back to CSUN for their compost bin. It was an educational program with a beautiful ending! 💐💚

With generous support from Bank of America, the Joyce Eisenberg-Keefer Medical Center hosted a second annual Olympic-style event for residents, this year inspired by the Maccabiah Games. The event was led by LAJH Board Chair Judy Friedman-Rudzki and her BofA colleague Larry Schnaid, a former president and current board member of the Guardians, a key LAJHealth support group. They were joined by 18 BofA community volunteers, along with residents, staff, and volunteers from across the organization. The day concluded with medals for the participating residents, though everyone there was truly a winner. 🏅

Staff Appreciation Week (SAW) was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our incredible employees with a week full of fun and meaningful events! This year’s theme, “L.A. Jewish Health Symphony…Harmonizing CARE through TEAMWORK,” highlighted the collaboration that defines the work our staff does every day to provide consistent and quality care to our seniors. 🎶

Throughout the week, our leadership and Human Resources teams visited all shifts to engage with staff during a variety of exciting activities. Highlights included donuts and new LAJH T-shirts, employee recognition, a Sip and Paint event, band tees breakfast, a lively “Fiesta and the Mic” karaoke feast, and the return of our beloved “No Talent Required” variety show. We're always proud to dedicate this week to honoring our employees, who go above and beyond to provide outstanding care to our patients, participants, and residents. 🎉

To cap off the celebration, we hosted our annual LAJH Family Picnic on Sunday, June 29th. Staff and their families enjoyed a day filled with great food, a spirited volleyball tournament, fun games for the kids, and even a bounce house! It was a wonderful way to unwind, connect, and celebrate the incredible people who are the heart of our organization. ❤️

Residents of the Joyce Eisenberg-Keefer Medical Center celebrated their "Senior Prom"! Dressed in their finest, with corsages and boutonnieres, they danced the night away to oldies and classics. We even crowned a Prom King and Queen! 👑 DJ Barry Cohen kept the evening lively with oldies and classics, thanks to the generous support of our music program by Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries. 🎼 A variety of delicious appetizers and champagne were served, and before the night ended, residents enjoyed posing for traditional prom photos in the photo booth.

LAJHealth’s Fountainview at Eisenberg Village independent living recently marked its 15th anniversary! ✨ A glamorous celebration was held complete with a Great Gatsby theme. Residents and staff dressed in 1920s stylish attire to enjoy a wonderful dinner, then partied in the dining room, which had been transformed to look like the Roaring ‘20s.
