Parenting is like dancing. Good dancing his when one partner leads and the other one follows.
The leader doesn't lead through threats, reminders or brides; you better move left or I'll crush your foot and no video games!
The leader knows the steps and simply supports the partner with a gentle hand on their back as they glide effortlessly instep, around the floor.
Yet, any kid worth keeping "forgets" the steps or insists on fox-trotting when clearly the invitation was to tango.
Decide the dance.
Know your moves and lead the way.
They will follow you because dancing in rhythm, sure beats sitting the next dance out.
