If you’ve struggled with setting and reaching health, fitness or wellness goals because life keeps getting in the way, come join me in Sacramento on March 16th from 11-3pm.

The Align to Achieve wellness event was created to support the busy woman in identifying her core values, life priorities and obligations so we can successfully set the stage for success.

Because life is unpredictable and the most common themes I see in clients trying to make progress towards a goal is staying on track and taking care of their basics needs when things don’t go as planned.

I’ve been praised for the discipline I have to being healthy & taking care of myself.

But what most don’t realize is that the majority of the time it’s 𝙙𝙚𝙫𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 that I use to continuously make choices that support myself. It’s my devotion to self & BE-ing the best version of myself.

You don’t need discipline to take action on things that matter to you. Discipline can be like motivation - a fleeting thought, feeling or action.

Don’t rely on being disciplined to stay the course. It won’t last.

Discipline can also disconnect you from yourself.

Have you ever committed to something but your body/mind fought you the whole time?

Do you know how many times I got sick when I was 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙙 in preparing for a competition? Too many times.

My discipline clouded my judgement.

Being devoted means being dedicated to showing up for yourself - for the love you have for yourself & your BE-ing - regardless of your “goals”.

So if your circumstances change - your needs change - you adapt to them. You shift your actions & intentions to stay aligned with who you want to be & how you want to feel.

Here’s an example of the difference:

Being disciplined - sticking to your exercise routine because you told yourself that you would workout every day of the week, even though you’re tired, achy & hungry all the time.

Being devoted - listening to your body’s call & making room for rest unapologetically, so that you can show up more fully when your body is ready.

This can be a tough call to make at the beginning & takes practice.

Sometimes making a different decision from your disciplined routine can feel like a cop-out. It can feel like you’re giving up or being lazy (or whatever story you hear yourself saying).

That’s part of the work & the opportunity to lean into your voice, your body & the real reasons you feel you need to be disciplined in the first place.

As you look at your goals & why you are setting them, make sure they connect you with your higher purpose & your ‘whys’ (the things you're passionate about, & the person you want to be as a result). That will help you determine if you are choosing them out of discipline or devotion.

Baby G coming March 2022!

Our family is growing by 1 and we’re thrilled!

Little D is stoked to become a big brother and is already so loving to my growing bump. Now mama and baby bump get hugs and kisses and he keeps asking when it’s going to come out 🤣

I’ve got so much share about this pregnancy and how different (but also not that different) it’s been from when I had little D.

Definitely bigger sooner this time around 🤰🏽😳

To everyone putting in the work, taking it day by day and not giving up. It’s not always easy and it sure as hell isn’t consistent in its ease or challenges, but you persist nonetheless. This is for you (you know who you are)! —- This is for my clients who have stayed the course while I was on , only to have surprised the hell out both of us.
I’m SO proud of you!! You’re all more capable, strong, loving and courageous than you give yourself credit for, so I hope you read this loud and clear! —- Don’t what till you get in that smaller jean size to be proud of yourself. Be proud now.
Don’t wait till you have a “perfect” week of eating (cause that’ll never happen) to be proud of yourself. Be proud now. —- Be proud of every conscious effort in discovering more about yourself, how and why decisions/actions shape your day/life. Because every time you get to yourself a little better, you’re one step closer to living everyday in the peace that you all seek. ...And I’m a right here with you putting in the work. .

to those preggo days when I felt like , welcoming the challenge of motherhood. I thought I was tired back then growing in that belly...ha! Mama knows what tired really is now! But it sure is worth it and every min of sleep lost to see that smiling face everyday. It’s challenged me in every way possible and I’m welcoming a whole new person that’s tired AF, but pouring every ounce of energy, physical and emotional strength and love I can for our little guy. Cause Thank you for capturing “me”

I love cooking. I find in therapeutic actually. But there are still days when I don’t want to do it or just want the simplest of dishes cause but she so hungry!
