Dear ETTA Family, We are thrilled to announce that ETTA's Board has appointed Dr. Michael Held to the position of CEO and promoted COO Scott Saliman to Executive Director! These changes reflect ETTA’s growth as an organization and approaching role as program provider to the Bhatia Family Village, a project of ETTA’s sister agency Cornerstone Housing for Neurodiverse Adults. We're honored to go from strength to strength in serving our community!

Recently during a Jewish Life lesson at our Group Homes, we dove into the beautiful themes of kindness, connection, and the value of friendship.

One highlight? Our “Kindness Hot Potato” game! 🎶🥔 As music played, participants passed a potato around, and when it stopped, they shared words of appreciation with a peer or staff member. It was a heartwarming way to build each other up and strengthen our community spirit.

We also got creative (and tasty!) with a symbolic friendship snack mix. 🥨🍬Each ingredient told a story: pretzels for the twists and turns of friendship, craisins for its sweetness, M&M’s for color and diversity, crackers for trust, and cereal for a fun crunch. While mixing and munching, we reflected on how these ingredients mirror the many layers of meaningful relationships.

Meet Shaina 👋 one of ETTA’s Amazing Residents! 🏡

For the past 9 years, Shaina has called an ETTA group home her home — and it’s made all the difference.

Before ETTA, Shaina was living on her own but found it hard to maintain structure and support. That changed when her grandmother found ETTA — and saw it could be the perfect fit.

From keeping her space clean, to cooking meals, to earning the title of “best dishwasher in the house” — Shaina is thriving.

Thursdays at ETTA just hit different in July because fresh produce and community care never go out of season. 🍎✨

Each week, thanks to Food Forward Inc. and FoodCycle LA, our North Hollywood site fills up with fresh fruits and vegetables, free to anyone who needs them.

Pesach, our incredible Office Assistant and Day Program participant, says it best:

“I like loading up the cart and bringing it in. I get to help people who need help and distribute food to the community. I like helping people, and I look forward to it each week.”

Our Day Program participants really soared to new heights at the The Museum of Flying in Santa Monica! ✈️

From climbing into the cockpit of a Convair 240 (co-pilots, assemble!), to jet-setting into the future with the Jet Trainer Cockpit Simulator, we were on cloud nine the whole visit! We even got up close and personal with a Blue Angels Douglas A-4 Skyhawk — it was sky-high excitement!
