Are You in the Know About NMO? Neuromyelitis Optica Awareness, Research and Treatment of NMO NMO is a very rare disease that requires immediate treatment when diagnosed.

It is similar to MS, but can be confirmed with a simple blood test to read antibodies. Treatment is very different than that for MS; extreme diligence should be taken by patient and doctor to correctly diagnose MS or NMO.

Just had my 1st dose of intravenous Rituximab to combat the overactive immune system that's attacking my optic nerve and spine. I tolerated it well, had no problems...so I get to go back in 2 weeks for my 2nd dose. I feel sooo much better knowing that I've got the meds in me! And I feel pretty great all around!
