Well, it's been 7 months now since you took that heavenly flight,
Things down here is about the same, I'm walking in your light,
Pennies from heaven find me everywhere I go and I know it's you,
Watching after your baby girl, making sure that I'm good with the things I'm going through,

On this past Sunday, a singer from church sang your favorite song,
I know you were there to encourage me, as I try to get along,
Don't really talk much to my family, except for Monique & Patrice on the phone,
It's all good though because sometimes it's for the best at least I'm left alone.

Next month your baby girl will be 60, and I plan to celebrate for the both of us,
I have lots of friends who are more like my family, ooh lawd don't make me cuss,
Aarin is doing great, you would be proud of his new haircut,
He is keeping his self busy with his passion, making sure he's not in a rut,
Imani just bought herself a new car and she's doing well in her new space,
Her and Golden is definitely living their best life, she's in a good place,

Tony had a little stint in the hospital, but he is doing great,
I was being Nurse advocate Linda Sam, making sure he wasn't late
Until I take to these pages next month, it will be your 91st year around the moon,
I know you have seen your sister Vera, who joined you way too soon..

5-16-21, Hello mama, it's been 6 months now and it gets easier with time,
To know that I can't talk to you in person, but you're always on my mind.
This mother's day wasn't too bad for me, because I don't look at it as others do,
I am a mother everyday to the two I birthed and I will always think of you.
I didn't need to feel sad, that you're not here, because I know you're in a better place,
Spending time with your other 3 children who get to see your smiling face.
I went to Texas to see Imani & Golden, they are doing really good,
She lives in a 3 bedroom house and it's in a real nice hood.
Kwame prepared brunch for us, Tony was there as well,
He really laid it out for us, the brunch was superb as far as I could tell.
It's funny how life works and the choices we get to make,
People will go to their graves with bitterness, which is such a big mistake.
I will be 60 in a couple of months and you will be 91 in August oh my,
I will be celebrating in grand style for the both of us, trying hard to NOT cry.
I know if it was God's plan you'd be here to celebrate with me to drop it like it's hot,
I will forever carry the many photos I have of you giving it all you got.
Until next month dear mama, my monthly tribute will live on these pages,
As God continue to have me here on earth and I get through the many stages.
