🕊️ When Power Touches the Body
In yoga we study the chakras — not as abstract ideas, but as reflections of how human beings experience the world.
Last week, two very different places echo the same truth.
In Minneapolis, a woman lost her life during a federal immigration enforcement action — a moment where state power met a human body, with irreversible consequences.
In Venezuela, millions continue to live under conditions where political power controls safety, movement, voice, and dignity — shaping daily life through fear, instability, and force.
Different contexts. Different systems. A shared theme.
🌱 When the Root Chakra is threatened, safety becomes conditional.
đź’› When the Solar Plexus is compromised, dignity and agency are taken away.
🗣️ When the Throat Chakra is suppressed, truth struggles to be heard.
đź’š When the Heart closes, suffering becomes easier to ignore.
Yoga asks us to notice this — not to turn away, not to harden, but to stay present.
Justice begins in the body. Awareness is a practice. Compassion is an action.
May we move, breathe, and live in ways that honor every person’s right to safety, dignity, and voice.
