Queer Mindfulness

Queer Mindfulness A mindfulness meditation group at InsightLA for the LGBTQ community. An inclusive & supportive envi Is our sexual orientation a badge? A prison? Our truest self?

An artificial construct? A way of connecting? Or something that separates us? How can we cultivate our spiritual identity while embracing our sexual identity? At the Dharma Alliance, we strive to answer these questions and more for the wonderfully diverse LGBTQ community of Southern California through
- the practice of Insight (Vipassana) Meditation
- the development of mindful awareness and compassion
- a caring and active engagement in our community

We commit ourselves to providing a truly inclusive and supportive environment for all members of the LGBTQ community who would like to cultivate their spiritual connections to self, family and community. Sitting group meetings are led by Community Dharma Leader, Diana Gould, and are intended for first-time meditators as well as experienced Vipassana practitioners. Each sitting group meeting will include meditation, a dharma talk & discussion. Diana Gould has been a meditator for 35 years, practicing Insight meditation for 20. She has taught meditation at the Learning Curve at the Gay and Le***an Center. She is currently enrolled in the Community Dharma Leader program through Spirit Rock, as well as the Teacher Training program with Trudy Goodman at Insight LA. As a television writer and producer, her credits include pilots, episodes, movies and miniseries for network and cable.
