Sooo for those of you who don’t know my birth worker journey began before I was conceived, it was already written for me. With that in mind it’s been one hell of a journey remembering this fact right here☝🏽. A lot of prayer, many tears, forks in the road, doubt and fear, so much burn out and exhaustion but also spirit, family, and friends to bring me up and hold me accountable for what I know to be true… my truth. My learning, and absorbing and holding space has just begun! It’s never ending and I’m grateful for that. I too am grateful to have learned when to hold space for me, when to pause and that it’s not necessary to be in the “rat” race. This pregnancy has taught me that and soo much more. But basically sit tf down and love on you! Because you can’t give if your cup is empty. All in all thankyou to those who’ve been supporting me and cheering me on, it’s never been unnoticed. So excited for this next chapter!! 🗣Next black midwife in the house! Ashé

For just some insight, my family has sold Christmas trees for a little over 20 years now. It started off as my entrepreneurial parents looking for another way to hustle during the holidays.

My mom came across a sales ad on Craigslist for a Christmas tree farm in Oregon. My mom convinced my dad to go and possibly buy this farm! He went and the owner taught my dad everything you could know about a Christmas tree farm; how to grow the trees, the different types, how to cut them etc in a matter of a two weeks. My parents decided the farm would be too much of a hassle but that they would solely sell Christmas trees from a distributor. My dad drove back to LA from Oregon with a moving truck full of trees to sell for the holidays and the rest is history. It became tradition and a tremendous help to our family.

If interested, you would be investing in a Afro-Latinx family and/or donating a tree to a women and men’s shelter of our choosing!

Arameh and her husband Rick reached out to me a couple of weeks before they delivered and it was as if we knew each other for months! She was very clear that she wanted strong knowledgeable women of color as a part of her support team. Most of all someone she could TRUST.

Women you can trust, relate to, and share the culture of being a WOC in a white dominated country is vital. Having someone who understands your needs without having to explain is OVERstanding.

We had this over standing from the beginning of care and I knew how she wanted to birth. I listened, we talked, they did research and they trusted; themselves and me.

Supporting them and watch them flow with their birth as intended was dope. Rick is right, “you’re a G pistol”!

Currently making herbal steam mixes for our wombxn.

Caring for yourself is an act of resistance in today’s standard of care and societal norms.

Caring for our wombs is important now more than ever. We are presented frequently with the idea that we have to work long hours, long days and long years in order to reach a peak of success. ( not the truth) it’s a rat race they are trying to promote.

Our indigenous practices have become distant because of the changes in society and colonial invasions . Slowing down and being present is an act of self care, one that I need to do more of.

Steaming helps you become more present with your body. It allows for stressors to alleviate and you to, once again regain the importance of cleansing your womb. Each herb has its purpose and when used correctly the herbal remedies can help heal and cleanse your womb and/ or va**na after birth, s*x and moon cycle.
