For the longest time, I’ve felt uncomfortable sitting in my feelings—especially around my adoption. I’ve often relied on logic to explain away what I feel, rather than allowing myself to truly sit with it.
Sometimes I even feel like a hypocrite—helping others sit with their emotions, while struggling to do the same for myself. But mindfulness and compassion have taught me that healing isn’t linear. None of us owe perfection to ourselves.
Yin yoga has been one of the few practices that helps me lean in. In the stillness of each pose, I can feel a little more of what I usually bury deep. Stillness can be uncomfortable—but it can also be freeing.
✨ Join me for an online BIPOC Adoptee Yin Yoga practice. This consists of a yin yoga practice followed by a discussion of BIPOC adoptee related topics.
