Temperature is a powerful grounding sense.

Hold something cold—ice, cold water, a cold stone. Or hold something warm—tea, your hands together, a warm blanket. Really feel the temperature shift.

Temperature sensations interrupt panic and bring you into your body immediately. It's a nervous system reset button.

Exteroception is sensing the world outside your body.

Notice the air on your skin. The light in the room. Sounds around you. The chair or ground supporting you. The temperature. The textures you can see.

When you're overwhelmed, tuning into your external environment creates safety and presence. It reminds your nervous system: "I'm here. I'm safe. I'm supported."

What if your body could help you find calm, right where you are?
So many of us feel disconnected from our bodies when anxiety hits. But gentle grounding can bring you back to yourself, one breath at a time.

Try this:
Sit comfortably, close your eyes if you like, and feel the ground beneath you. Notice your breath, the rise and fall in your chest. Place a hand on your heart or belly. Let yourself feel supported, just for these few moments. 🌱

Sometimes, the smallest shift in awareness is the first step toward relief.

Interoception is noticing what's happening inside your body.

Place your hand on your heart. Feel it beating. Notice your breath moving in and out. Is your stomach tight or relaxed? Are your shoulders tense or soft? What sensations do you notice?

Real talk—family dynamics can be healing or wounding. Sometimes both at once.

Take something small—a mint, a piece of chocolate, a sip of tea, a berry. Place it in your mouth and really taste it. Sweet? Bitter? Warm? Cooling? Familiar?

Slow down and notice every sensation. This mindful eating practice brings you fully into your body and out of your anxious mind.
