Myles Spar, MD, MPH is board-certified in Internal and Integrative Medicine. He is the National Medical Director and VP of Clinical Services for AndHealth - a company whose mission is to reverse chronic disease. Dr. Spar graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1993 and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Tulane University, followed by a fellowship in Health Services
Research and Masters in Public Health at UCLA. He then completed his fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, under the guidance of his mentor, Andrew Weil, MD. Dr. Spar's approach to personalized and participatory care involves optimizing lifestyle, nutrition, exercise, stress management, nutraceutical supplementation and hormone replacement, when appropriate. Dr. Spar is uniquely trained in multiple forms of medicine, from traditional Internal Medicine to Anti-Aging Medicine to complementary and Integrative approaches to assessment, prevention and therapy. When dealing with a medical issue, Dr. Spar evaluates the total picture rather than automatically prescribing a pill. He’s as likely to prescribe nutritional therapies, supplements or lifestyle changes as to prescribe western medications. His focus is on prevention using nutrition, exercise, dietary supplements and hormone optimization. He’ll also make sure you’re taking the simple precautions and practicing the life routines that can keep you healthy. Dr. Spar has practiced Integrative Medicine at his office in West Hollywood, California and New York, NY. In addition, Dr. Spar also founded and directed the Integrative Medicine Program at Venice Family Clinic’s Simms-Mann Health and Wellness Center. This center is the only one of it’s kind in the country, serving the less fortunate in need. As a clinical faculty member of UCLA, Duke and the University of Arizona Medical School, Dr. Spar has published and presented on subjects related to integrative medicine, ranging from men’s nutrition, to the use of a multi-disciplinary approaches, to patients with chronic pain. The Oxford University Press published his comprehensive book on Optimal Men’s Health, which is now available on Amazon. Dr. Spar has developed a broad perspective, in part from his humanitarian work (both in the field and on the Board of Directors) for the Nobel Prize winning organization, Doctors Without Borders. He has a strong commitment to both evidence-based practices, as well as a coordinated, multi-disciplinary approach to healing. Dr. Spar views his role as a partner with his patients – working with them to maintain optimal health and invest in their own well-being.
