🍯The female metabolism is much more complex than calories in/calories out🙃

Our metabolism makes up our energy, digestion, libido, hormones - everythanggg
And our thyroid is in charge of our metabolism - this is why slashing calories only leads you back to low energy and a slow metabolism.

our metabolism is our vitality. It’s our power as a woman. It’s how deeply nourished we feel. It’s our fullest expression as a woman. So of course, our metabolism needs to be nurtured daily.

Homemade creamy macadamia nut milk!🥛

Do you read what’s in your nut milks? Don’t let the terms “natural” or “organic” fool you. Many of them contain added stabilizers and synthetic vitamins 😝 our body can’t digest these so they just hang around in the gut and wreak havoc!

Making your own nut milk just takes a little extra time + a blender 😉🥛

Macadamia nut milk:
1 cup soaked macadamia nuts
4 cups water
2 dates
blend & strain in a nut milk bag
add vanilla extract & a pinch of salt at the end!
*add in coconut flakes or almonds to mix it up

FAQ: is self control with food possible?

The first time I became aware of my lack of “self control” was when I was 20. A coworker and I went to See’s Candies. We each got 4 truffles. She had 1 and put the rest in her purse. I finished all of mine in the same amount of time she had her 1. I was so jealous! How could she go about living her life knowing there were 3 uneaten See’s Candies in her purse?!

After all my years of trying to control myself with food, I’ve learned this: where there is control, there will be rebellion. Where there is restriction, there will be a binge. Maybe not right away since “discipline” can last a while, but eventually it will follow.

The most IMPORTANT part of easing :

JUST BEING WITH IT.

Last week I discussed some root causes of anxiety and shared ways to help deal with it. The simple thing I didn’t share: being with your anxiety instead of distracting yourself to avoid it.
•
When feelings of anxiety start to arise, your sympathetic nervous system starts to freak out. It quickly goes into fight or flight - panic or escape. By NOT being with your feelings of anxiety, your body will continue to go into fight or flight anytime you get anxious.
•
By S L O W I N G down and being with your feelings, you are telling your body it’s safe to shift to the parasympathetic nervous system - this is how you chill out and return back to homeostasis. This is also how you can begin the process of feeling less anxious about things.
•
I can attest to this because flying 🛫 used to cause me major anxiety!! It still does but it’s much more manageable now. What are some things you guys do to help with things that make you anxious? 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
