Laila grabbed my hand from the sidelines and asked me to run with her during their annual jog a thon at school yesterday, and of course I wasn’t going to let my baby down! I jumped right in and ran with her. These are the moments that I savor the most as a mommy. Both Laila and Jace did an awesome job! 🥰.

Choosing to spend the summer in Georgia, rejuvenating and reconnecting, was the best decision I could have made! Last week’s 7-year anniversary of our move to LA was a beautiful reminder that while I love our life here, there’s no place like home. I felt truly blessed to share precious moments with family, including my brothers, cousins, nieces, and nephews whom I miss dearly 🥰. Until next time, GA…🫶

Of course I had to put McKenzie to work on her first winter break as a college student. She perfectly captured how silly we are at the end of a whirlwind day of hosting our first school wide Polar Express Day! It was an epic success 🥰. I really love my Principal (in red), Counselor (in green) and Office Supervisor (in black). I could not do this work without them ❤️. Thanks for being our photographer, McKenzie ☺️. Now it’s time for my winter break to begin! 🎉

Mekhi and McKenzie are all moved into their dorms, and I cried like a baby when it was time to hug them goodbye 🥺. My cousin Sherry and her husband have been an absolute blessing throughout this entire journey! Not only did they fly from Georgia to help move them in, but they made sure that neither Mekhi nor McKenzie had to worry about anything. Our village helped me raise them and will continue to see them through such an exciting journey ahead 🥰🎉❤️🙏🏾.

Laila and Aiden were in tears saying goodbye to her besties Mekhi and McKenzie, as they head to California State University Northridge. We’re going to miss them so much! Mekhi is the big brother who wakes Laila up in the morning before school, turns on music, and dances with her, so our mornings won’t be the same without them. My heart is full ❤️

We officially have two more high school graduates in the Starks household, and I’m so proud of my babies! Watching Mekhi and McKenzie along with their village of friends walk around the stage to receive their high school diplomas yesterday filled my heart with joy and my eyes with tears ❤️. My Aunt Lillie would’ve certainly been here to see them graduate yesterday, but we know that she was here in spirit, and McKenzie walked across the stage with a picture of her on her cap as a way to honor her memory. I can’t wait to see them blossom into this next phase of their lives as young adults attending college in the fall. 🎉

My Spotify Unwrapped playlist is dead on every single year! Gray California mornings while listening to John Coltrane and pulling into work blasting TI because I may be a Californian now but I’m a GA girl through and through and I simply can’t get used to LA hip hop. Another year…another playlist in the books 🥰.

After spending the day getting the house ready for the holiday season, Jace and LaLa aka peanut butter & jelly did what they do best and asked to snap a pic before we settle in for some hot cocoa and a movie. We are ready for the holidays! 🥰🎄🎄🎁.
