I have seen many (well meaning) Christians classify anxiety as solely a spiritual problem, rather than a biological one

The problem with this, is that when you continue to suffer from anxiety you now also feel guilty because it feels like your anxiety is because of a lack of faith

Friends, this isn’t true! Your anxiety has a largely biological basis in your nervous system, and so in order to heal from anxiety you need to also be learning how to regulate your nervous system

Luckily, this is something I really like teaching people how to do, so you’ve come to the right place 😉

This is supposed to keep you safe (and it does a really good job of that!) BUT it’s also pretty frustrating at times

My suggestion is to start with acknowledging that anxiety IS illogical because the more you try to make sense of it, the more frustrating it can be

Then once you’ve accepted the illogical nature of anxiety you can move on to calming down your nervous system 🫶

If you struggle this anxiety, here are three things to intentionally focus on that help reset your nervous system:

1️⃣ Sleep - aim to get an average of 7 hours a night to allow your nervous system time to recharge and reset

2️⃣ Exercise - cardio can help your boy reset the fight or flight response that gets activated by anxiety, and yoga can teach your how to intentionally relax different areas of your body

3️⃣ Breathing - deep breathing can help activate the vagus nerve, which turns on our parasympathetic nervous system and signals to our body that it's time to calm down
