“I wish I had given him his story.”

My dad passed away three years ago.

I never asked him:
What were your dreams? What scared you? What made you proud?

I thought there would be more time.

When I found this book, I thought:
He would have loved this.

But now, I’ll keep it for my mom.
For my grandfather.
For the people I still have.

“My dad never cries. But that day, he did.”

My father has always been a quiet man.
The kind who loves through actions, not words.

When I gave him the book and said,
“Dad, I want to know everything about you. Write it here, for me,”

he opened the first page and read:
“Dad, tell me your story.”

Then he paused. His hands shook just a little.

“I didn’t think my story mattered to anyone,” he said.
