Where History Meets High Heels:
While The Devil Wears Prada 2 tackles the terrifying world of modern media, Stephens College has been keeping the receipts of fashion history since 1730. As one of the world’s premier fashion institutions, Stephens houses the Costume Museum and Research Library (CMRL)—a hoard of over 13,000 garmentsthat would make even Miranda Priestly crack a smile (briefly).
The collection is a "Who's Who" of designers ie, "the usual suspects":
The Heavy Hitters: Chanel, Valentino, and Oscar de la Renta.
The Icons: Bill Blass, Oleg Cassini, and the legendary Madame Etta.
The Hidden Gems: Pieces dating back nearly 300 years, long before anyone knew what a "cerulean" belt was.
