UPDATE ON OUR WELLNESS 101 GAME SHOW:
Back in 2016, we began test shots for the Wellness 101 game show. We shot dozens of test episodes and posted some of them here on our page. We geared up for the launch of the show, while I was preparing to shoot a film I had been developing. The film wound up coming out in early 2017 and the plan was to launch the TV version of the game show that summer. We delayed that because of one reason, demand for the film was high because of the subject matter: police brutality and systemic racism. Learn more about that film at www.walkingwhileblackthemovie.com and learn about the movement it inspired at https://loveistheanswermovement.com/. I've planned several launches of the game show since then, only to delay it each time because of yet another high profile story of police brutality and systemic racism that grips our nation. Quite frankly, there are a lot of laughs and good times on that show and many days, I just don't feel like laughing. We are postponing the launch of our incredible, fun, and informative game show again during this time for the same reasons that NBA players refused to play after Jacob Blake was shot. I'm dealing with an issue that affects my mental health, emotional health, and is a threat to my physical health and financial health. Police brutality and systemic racism are real threats to Black men and women, boys and girls, every damn day. Not in a decade, not in a few years. I absolutely love to laugh, have fun, and teach wellness. Right now, though, I feel like an ER doc in the middle of a mass casualty event. Right now, I'm having to focus every ounce of energy on ending police brutality and systemic racism. So, whether you know it or not, my having to focus my energies on that, so that I don't wind up being "next" with my family standing next to Ben Crump on CNN, well, that's affecting your wellness. You're not seeing fun and informative episodes of a show that can help you achieve your wellness goals because my "wellness goal" right now is simply to be able to walk down the street in my own neighborhood without having to wonder if I'll be shot by police because I'm Black. The sooner we can solve that problem, the sooner I can help you and your family live your best life. Until then, I'll keep posting wellness tips, but the show itself, it'll have to wait a little while longer. I'm in a fight for my life. In case you're wondering about that film, or if you'd like to help end this thing that I guarantee you every one of your Black friends, co-workers, and neighbors are thinking about and sometimes crying over when you're not watching, visit http://loveistheanswermovement.com/. And if you care about them as much as I care about you, get involved in ending police brutality and systemic racism so that I can go back to doing what I really want to do -- help YOU live your best life. I really want to help you live your best life through our Wellness 101 game show. Sadly, I can't do that right now because I'm fighting for my own. Message me today if you want to help change things.
