🌟 Supporting Children with Autism: Understanding Sensory Overload and Sensory Integration 🌟

For children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), sensory overload can be a major challenge. Sensory processing differences mean some children struggle to process sensory information comfortably, leading to overwhelm, anxiety, and difficulty focusing. 🔹 Use playtime to boost language skills! Simple games like “Simon Says” or “I Spy” can help with following directions, expanding vocabulary, and improving listening skills.
🔹 Encourage turn-taking and using complete sentences during play, which can help develop both social and language skills.

Lisa had the privilege of attending the ANS Therapeutics Conference, where she learned so much about supporting infants’ Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) development. A HUGE thank you to Michelle, founder of the Tummy Time Method, for sharing her wealth of knowledge! 💖 Michelle’s passion for infant development inspired her to create a simple yet incredibly effective tummy time approach that empowers both parents and babies. 🙌
